Brendan Fraser has responded after Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson once again proved himself to be Hollywood's nicest man by supporting Fraser's movie comeback.
Johnson, 50, who starred alongside Fraser, 53, in The Mummy Returns (2001), said that he was delighted to hear that Fraser was getting standing ovations for his new film, The Whale.
The film has heralded what's been widely described as a comeback for the actor, best known for his performances in '90s and noughties classics including George of the Jungle (1997).

The Rock took to Twitter to share his support for his co-star, writing: "Man this makes me so happy to see this beautiful ovation for Brendan. He supported me coming into his Mummy Returns franchise for my first ever role, which kicked off my Hollywood career.
"Rooting for all your success brother and congrats to my bud Darren Aronofsky. #TheWhale."
Now, Fraser has responded to Johnson's kind words in an interview with Variety on Wednesday (19 October), telling the news outlet: "I thought that was really nice of him."

He added: "The first time I met him was at the reception after The Mummy Returns. We hadn't met in person before then, actually, although we were fighting onscreen. But every time I 'worked with him' he was just a piece of tape on a stick. So it was nice to go, 'Hey, man. How are ya? We finally meet!'"
Referring to the former wrestler's impressive physique, he joked: "I could take him. I could take him - he's just a piece of tape on a stick!"
Reacting to The Rock's all around niceness, Twitter users were quick to comment on what's been dubbed a 'bromance'.

One wrote: "Hey @TheRock! We are out here for this Brendan Fraser bromance!
"In all seriousness, it’s great to see these two actors cheer each other on, years after #TheMummy."
"Can’t wait to see this movie," added another. "I'm happy he's back & getting all the love he deserves."
A third remarked: "I'm str8 up crying. What a road that Brendan has been on and I don't even KNOW him. Thanks to The Rock for allowing an entire world to applaud."

"Brendan Fraser starring as Rick O'Connell was by far one of my best childhood memories. I'm glad he gets the respect he freaking deserves," added a fourth.
It looks like it's not just viewers who are happy with the new movie, either, as Fraser, who plays a 600lb man in The Whale, praised it as being 'like nothing we've ever seen'.
