We last left the gang celebrating their victory after escaping the clutches of Mr and Mrs. Tweedy. Twenty-two years on (feel old yet?), after waiting for 'the right story and the right partner', Aardman is ready to bring our favourite feathered clan back for another long-awaited adventure.
The sequel, titled Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, follows Ginger, who, 'having pulled off a death-defying escape from Tweedy’s farm', has created a peaceful sanctuary for the whole flock away from the dangers of humans.
However, 'back on the mainland, the whole of chicken-kind faces a new and terrible threat', leaving Ginger and her team with no choice but to intervene – even if it means putting their freedom on the line.

The upcoming flick will chronicle the antics of the same flock of chickens we all know and love, with both new and returning characters in the mix.
Thandiwe Newton and Zachary Levi are joining the star-studded cast to voice the iconic Ginger and Rocky, while Game Of Thrones star Bella Ramsey will voice their daughter, Molly.
Other voices in the chicken coop include Imelda Staunton as Bunty, Jane Horrocks as Babs and Lynn Ferguson as Mac. Meanwhile, viewers will be introduced to a whole host of new characters including Frizzle (Josie Sedgwick-Davies), Fowler (David Bradley), Nick (Romesh Ranganathan), Fetcher (Daniel Mays) and Dr. Fry (Nick Mohammed).

Flushed Away's Sam Fell is in the director's chair, with Steve Pegram and Leyla Hobart producing and Karey Kirkpatrick, John O’Farrell and Rachel Tunnard on the script.
Aardman and Netflix have previously teamed up for the animated short Robin Robin, with the entertainment powerhouses mulling over the idea of a second Chicken Run outing.
'[Chicken Run 2] was often discussed at Aardman but the studio needed the right story and the right partner. Following Robin Robin, another collaboration seemed like a no-brainer and the perfect time to bring back our poultry heroes to the world,' Peter Lord, co-founder and creative director of Aardman, and Aram Yacoubian, director of Animated Film at Netflix, wrote in a blog post.
Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget will hit Netflix in 2023
