Deadpool 3 is set to bring back characters Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Yukio, Deadline reports of the forthcoming film.
With a release slated for November 2024, we’ve got plenty of time to build excitement for the third Deadpool film, which will mark the franchise’s first foray into the Marvel Cinematic Universe after film rights were returned to Marvel when Disney acquired 20th Century Fox.
While some details remain thin on the ground, we do know that Hugh Jackman will be reprising his iconic role of Wolverine, having been roped in by Ryan Reynolds after hanging up the mutton chops following 2017’s Logan.
Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios - and the primary producer of the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise since 2007 – also confirmed the movie will be Marvel’s first R-rated film, with director Shawn Levy also recently teasing ‘in your face and hardcore violence'.

But it looks like Jackman isn’t the only name to look out for in the third movie, with Deadline reporting two other favourite stars will be making an appearance.
According to the Deadline, actors Brianna Hildebrand and Shioli Kutsuna have closed deals to return to the film series.
Hildebrand is set to reprise her role from the first two films as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, a mutant who can generate atomic explosions, while Kutsuna will play her girlfriend Yukio, a Japanese mutant ninja first introduced in the second film.

The outlet explains that other Deadpool veterans returning for the threequel include Karan Soni, Leslie Uggams, Morena Baccarin, Stefan Kapicic and Rob Delaney.
Alongside Jackman, the film will also feature newcomers such as Emma Corrin and Succession's Matthew Macfadyen.
Last month, Reynolds hinted that Jackman's Wolverine will return as ‘something completely new’, discussing how the team-up came to be.

“I never stopped [trying to get him to come back as Wolverine],” Reynolds told ET Canada.
“I was just pestering him like a gnat over the last many years. I believe in timing, as much as hard work and luck and all those intersections that are supposed to meet. Timing’s the big one. I think he was ready. I think he was excited.
“And what we pitched him was enough of a divergence from the character that he knows and the character that he’s left behind, that it gives him something completely new to play and something that he’s really excited to do.”
For the Wolverine obsessives who are still concerned about how Deadpool 3 fits into the hero’s overall cinematic story, Reynolds backed Jackman’s previous comments.

The Wrexham FC co-owner added: “Logan takes place in 2029. Totally separate thing. Logan died in Logan. Not touching that.”
