After nearly two decades, sources have confirmed a sequel for The Devil Wears Prada is in the works.
Any updates about a second Devil Wears Prada have been moving at a glacial pace - until now.
And quite frankly, this is the only news you really need to care about reading all week.
The iconic comedy-drama based on the book of the same name starred none other than Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt and was a box office hit, grossing a whopping $326.7 million worldwide according to Box Office Mojo.

Despite this, fans of The Devil Wears Prada have had to wait nearly 20 years for any substantial update regarding a sequel and whether we were going to ever see more of the terrifying Miranda Priestly on screen - the original having come out in 2006. Feel old yet?
Hathaway (aka Andrea Sachs) has previously addressed the possibility of a sequel, saying in 2022 during an appearance on The View she just didn't 'know if there can be' a follow-up.
She said: "I just think that movie was in a different era. Now everything’s gone so digital and that movie is centered around the concept of producing a physical thing and it’s just, it’s just very different.”
Earlier this year in an interview with E!, she echoed: "I don't think a continuation of that story is probably ever gonna happen."

However, thankfully, fans of the movie can now breathe a sigh of relief, after The Puck confirmed a sequel has not only been okayed but is actually in early development.
Sources told the outlet - with others having also confirmed the same information to Deadline - the sequel is set to be written by Ailine Brosh McKenna - who wrote the first movie.
It's also reported the first movie's original producer Wendy Finerman and original director David Frankel are set to return too.

And try to contain your excitement - Steep and Blunt have reportedly been convinced to sign on as well, although there's no update on Hathaway's potential involvement yet.
And it's not taken long for fans of the film to flood to social media to weigh in on the news.
One Twitter user said: "This could be a sweet dream or beautiful nightmare. Either way I... will be watching."

"About time there's a sequel," another added.
A third commented: "I don’t care what it is, if Meryl Streep is in it, it’s my new favorite movie."
"Wonder if it will be as good as the first one," a fourth wrote.
And a fifth resolved: "Ohh we are so back."
