Fans who were left reeling after Henry Cavill's shock announcement that he would not be returning to play DC Comics’ Superman have begun compiling their own Marvel wishlists for the jilted British actor.
The team of nerds over at New Rockstars kicked it off with a simple tweet.
The tweet read: "So… can we cast Henry Cavill in the Marvel Cinematic

Universe now?"
And, well, fans went into overdrive to come up with their dream casting choices for Cavill.
One Twitter user said: "I'd have said Hercules but that role's taken. Maybe Hyperion? Sentry? Ares?"
A second added: "Hyperion is right there, guys."

A third chimed in with: "Captain Britain."
Others just called on President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige to snap up Cavill while he could, with some tagging Feige in the Twitter thread to make their point.

One user said: "@Kevfeige, now is the time."
A second said: "I hope that happens as soon as possible, please Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige, bring Henry Cavill to the MCU."
A third went into bat for Cavill after the star left his dream role in the Witcher.
They said: "At this point make him the new face of the MCU, dude deserves the best after seeing his dream project being ruined and being removed from his second dream project."
When you have fans this keen, who needs an agent?

Fans went wild back in October when Cavill teased that he was putting the red cape and blue superhero suit back on.
The actor's cameo as the Man of Steel in Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam set up a potential showdown between the two characters in another film.
There were also hopes for Cavill's Superman to re-enter the DC Extended Universe in other movies.
But, it looks like that won't be happening anymore after Cavill met with the co-Presidents at DC Studios.

The British superstar posted a heartbreaking statement on Instagram on December 15 where he confirmed the decision.
"I have just had a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran and it's sad news, everyone," the actor wrote.
"I will, after all, not be returning as Superman.
"After being told by the studio to announce my return back in October, prior to their hire, this news isn't the easiest, but that's life.
"The changing of the guard is something that happens. I respect that."
So what's next for Henry Cavill? Well, it had better be good. Some have floated James Bond or a return to Netflix's Witcher.
Or maybe, just maybe, he'll pop up in the MCU.
