American actor Fred Savage is perhaps best known for his role as Kevin Arnold in the American television series The Wonder Years.
However, the 45-year-old has since been fired from a reboot of the show following various misconduct allegations.
Spanning from 1988 to 1993, the series went on for half a decade and was left untouched for nearly thirty years.

However, last year, Savage took on the responsibilities of director and executive producer upon the show's return.
After finishing up the second season of the ABC reboot, Savage was accused of inappropriate misconduct following a statement by a spokesperson for 20th Television.
“Recently, we were made aware of allegations of inappropriate conduct by Fred Savage, and as is policy, an investigation was launched," it details.

The statement continues, "Upon its completion, the decision was made to terminate his employment as an executive producer and director of The Wonder Years," declining further comment, Deadline reports.
This isn't the first time that the Chicago-born actor has had a run-in with similar misconduct allegations.
Back in 2018, three years before The Wonder Years reboot, Savage encountered accusations of both assault and intimidation.

These allegations came from a crew member who was involved in the production behind The Grinder, the American comedy series starring Rob Lowe.
Savage fervently denied all allegations and claims of assault and, following an investigation led by 20th Century Fox, the network acquitted the actor of all charges.
Similarly, another staff member also working on The Grinder raised allegations of gender harassment, gender discrimination, battery and assault.

The show's costume designer, Younjoo Hwang, claimed Savage's inappropriate conduct was openly-known and, due to this, she didn't chase her claim over fears of 'never working in this industry again'.
Many fans of The Wonder Years have weighed in on the decision for the network to sever ties with the actor.
One Twitter user posted, "So, the cast and crew must suffer the consequences of his f*******???"
"It still could be doom for the series, depending on how much Savage was bringing to it," voiced another fan concerned about the outcome this could have on the reboot.

While others speculated the actor's history with misconduct allegations, "It’s weird how Fred Savage has a reputation that we never talk about. This is three shows now," some used the opportunity to express their disappointment with the reboot of the beloved series, "They should have never touched an American classic television show and 'tried' to duplicate it. The reboot was absolute trash."
Savage has not yet commented on the allegations.
