Jackie Chan has come under fire over his relationship - or lack thereof - with his daughter after a clip claiming to show them together went viral.
Back when Twitter was a thing (sorry, Elon), a clip started to do the rounds with the caption: "Jackie Chan and his daughter crying while watching some of his old movie scenes is the most wholesome thing you’ll watch today."
"Thanks for our childhood legend," the post added.
In the clip, Chan could be seen standing alongside a younger woman and watching a montage made up of scenes from Chan's previous movies.

The woman tells Chan he's 'awesome', and links her arm through the actor's as they're both reduced to tears.
It's a heartwarming video for sure, but it's not quite what it seems.
While it does show a nice display between father and daughter, it's not a clip of Chan and his offspring. Instead, the video has been taken from the film Ride On, in which Chan stars as former stuntman Lao Luo, with actor Liu Haocun cast as his daughter.
Chan's biological daughter is named Etta, and she was born after Chan had an affair with beauty queen Elaine Ng Yi-lei.

In 2015, Chan said he apologised to his wife and their son for his infidelity, after which it was 'never mentioned again'.
The same year, Etta confirmed to E! News that Chan does not have a role in her life.
“He is my biological father but he is not in my life," he said. "He never existed in my life. I will never regard him as a father. As long as I have my mother with me, I don’t need my father.”

A few years later, Etta posted a video alongside her girlfriend, Andi Autumn, claiming they had been left 'homeless' because of their 'homophobic parents'.
Etta's mother later criticized her daughter's decision to share the video, saying: “I feel that if they have no money, they should go find work."
After the clip claiming to show Chan and his daughter went viral, Twitter users began to call out the actor and the real story involving his daughter.

"Jackie Chan is trending because someone wanted to engagement farm. That actress is not his real daughter. Look up Etta Ng. Not exactly father of the year," one person wrote.
Another commented: "That’s not Jackie Chan’s daughter, it’s the actress Liu Haocun from the recent scripted drama RIDE ON. I suggest you read more about his real life daughter Etta Ng before praising Chan as a great dad."
UNILAD has reached out to representatives for Chan for comment.
