Jennifer Coolidge has said the fake tan she wore for her role as Tanya McQuoid in The White Lotus prompted a trip to A&E. Ouch.
The 61-year-old actor recently scooped her first ever Emmy for her role in the hit HBO show, which will hopefully take some of the sting out of the scary reaction she had during filming.
Coolidge told Allure: “For The White Lotus, I didn’t want to look like a big, white marshmallow on the beach in Hawaii, so I got a spray tan.

“I got on the plane, and I started to feel really weird. By the time I got off the flight, I had to go to the emergency room.”
She discovered that she had an allergic reaction to the tan, adding: "I think we ended up using regular make-up. The minute we stopped filming, I would shower. I have such a quick reaction to stuff.”
Coolidge went on to say that in the past few years she’s started to suffer allergies from certain ingredients in make-up and other products.
"I was never someone who cared very much about ingredients,” she went on. “Then, I'd say the last five or six years, I started getting allergic. My eyes would always be tearing up, but it never occurred to me that it was my make-up."

The American Pie star was also recently hailed a ‘legend’ after giving a funny response to a question about her love life on the Emmys’ red carpet last week.
In a clip shared on Access Hollywood’s Twitter account, an interviewer asks: "Now, Jennifer, is there somebody that you got your eye on in there? If you could shoot your shot with anybody - who would they be?"
After having a little think, Coolidge said: "Who would it be? Well, I was very excited about somebody - I can't say their name.”

Before adding: "But I found out today he's dead.”
Twitter users thought the clip was hilarious, with one responding: “She embodies humour. She doesn’t even have to try.”
Another wrote: “I love the chaotic good that is Jennifer Coolidge.”
While someone else commented: “This woman is hilarious when she doesn’t even try. But I feel like is shouldn’t be laughing.”

At the Emmys', Coolidge was given the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series and then refused to leave the stage until she had her chance to thank everyone she wanted to thank, telling the organisers: "Wait, hold on, no this is a once in a lifetime thing!"
