Johnny Depp has revealed that his on-screen kiss with costar Keira Knightley was 'unbelievably awkward'.
Depp starred alongside Knightley's Elizabeth Swann and Orlando Bloom's Will Turner in the first three Pirate Of The Caribbean movies as everyone's favourite 'worst pirate' Captain Jack Sparrow.
The films followed their swash-buckling adventures on the high seas, from fighting pirate (and a monkey) zombies onboard The Black Pearl to escaping the dark waters of Davy Jones' Locker.

The Disney franchise has grossed $4.5 billion at the box office and has captivated millions of fans around the world - however, you'd be surprised to learn that it wasn't all plain sailing for its stars.
Depp, 59, revealed that one scene was particularly uncomfortable to shoot.
The scene in question happens in Dead Man's Chest (2006), in which Captain Jack and Elizabeth finally lock lips.

Although the kiss wasn't supposed to be a romantic one - given that she was distracting him in order to chain him to the ship to get eaten - Depp still found it weird to shoot.
Speaking to Vanity Fair, he said: "Kissing someone you are not romantically involved with is always awkward,
“But the fact that Keira is 20-something years younger than me made it infinitely more awkward. Still, she was a good sport about it and we did what we had to do."

He also told TMZ, "Any kind of scene like that whenever you’re doing that sort of thing, it’s always unbelievably awkward especially having met Keira when she was 17 years old.
"But regardless of that it’s always awkward so you kind of just making light of it; she was a good sport and we just kind of did what we had to do, that’s the gig."
However, Knightley seemed to have a different point of view on her kissing partner.

The Pride and Prejudice star said: "I couldn’t ask for a better kissing scene with Johnny Depp actually, I think my 14-year-old self was yelping with pleasure …It was fantastic!
"What more can a girl ask for? I’ve got Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom, and I get to kiss both of them. It’s wonderful!"
Elizabeth, as well as the audience, certainly had some swash-buckling heartthrobs to choose from, and for anyone who was Team Jack, then this scene was certainly a favourite - even if it was to save her own skin from the Kraken.
Although her character shared many passionate kisses with Will, Knightley had a different opinion when asked which of her co-stars was the better kisser.

"Johnny Depp certainly wasn't bad," Knightley reportedly told InStyle.
