**Warning: Spoilers ahead for John Wick: Chapter 4**
John Wick director Chad Stahelski has spoken out about the possibility of Keanu Reeves returning for a fifth time.
With the fourth film in the action thriller franchise being called the 'greatest movie of all time' it would be a tough act to follow - particularly if the titular role has just been killed off and the actor playing him may subsequently have to be replaced or the character of John Wick left behind completely.

However, wilder things have happened in the world of film than a character getting resurrected - we also technically didn't see a body after all.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Stahelski - who has directed all four films of the franchise - opened up in '100 percent honesty' about the potential for a fifth movie starring Keanu Reeves being 'so fun' and 'special' but also 'challenging and painful'.
The filmmaker said: "You know, if you ask any director in Hollywood if he could direct his own IP, come up with his own ideas, and have some of the best cast members in Hollywood, have some of the best crew want to work with you because they know you're going to do something special, I mean, yeah, who wouldn't trip over themselves to do that?

"If you think it wouldn't be a good idea to work with Keanu for the rest of your career, you're crazy; that's nuts, like, of course."
However, Stahelski explained it's 'the why' which is the main question when it comes to a fifth film, admitting 'right now' he doesn't 'have a why'.
The director continued: "I'm just getting my head out of this one. To be honest, maybe five months from now, Keanu could be sitting there in that same bar going, 'Hey…' But, right now, we tried to leave everything on the table we could, just put it all out there.

"Everything we've ever wanted to do in a film, in a John Wick, we did it. As good as we could be at the point we did that movie, that was our best.
"Now, hopefully, we improve, and we evolve, and maybe there's going to be a time when we look at each other going, got an idea!"
But what has the actor himself said?

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Reeves echoed Stahelski with his emphasis on always questioning 'why' a movie should be made.
Reeves and Stahelski both also felt the time was right for John Wick to die in the fourth film of the franchise.
"That, for us, was the organic, authentic story to tell for the character of John Wick and the John Wick world," Reeves explained.

While a fifth film of the franchise was green-lit in 2020, the coronavirus pandemic saw it shelved and the real question is, even if there is another movie, is there any possibility of Wick coming back to life still as Reeves?
Sorry John Wick fans, it's not looking great - although, as always, we've been teased with a non-committal answer, so maybe there's hope yet.
Reeves resolved: "I don't know, I guess I'm going to have to lean on never say never. I mean, I wouldn't do a John Wick film without Chad Stahelski. We'd have to see what that looked like. For me, it feels really right that John Wick finds peace."
