DC fans have praised that a scene from Man of Steel featuring Henry Cavill and his dad, played by Kevin Costner because it's absolutely heartbreaking.
The 2013 Zack Snyder film served as an origin story for Superman and received a positive response from comic book aficionados.

The little alien baby – who eventually becomes the world’s greatest superhero – is adopted by Jonathan and his wife Martha and named Clark.
Clark soon begins developing superhuman abilities, which his dad urges him to keep hidden even when a tornado rips through their town. Jonathan even refuses the help of Clark and he loses his life in the tornado, which weighs heavily on the Clark’s conscious for the rest of his life.
As Jonathan raises his hand to stop Clark from using his powers to save him, the future hero is left watching in agony as his dad perishes.

Moments before the tornado claims the life of his father, Clark and Jonathan have a heated argument, which makes their last encounter even more heart wrenching.
Podcast host Kevin McCarthy tweeted his love for a scene from the film in which Clark Kent and his adoptive human father Jonathan Kent.
Tweeting a GIF of Jonathan's death scene, he said: "Rewatching MAN OF STEEL now. This scene destroys me every single time. "The way Henry Cavill yells 'Dad' is heartbreaking. Costner’s look in that scene just speaks volumes.
"Snyder handled that moment with perfect balance. Such a conflicted scene emotionally. Beautifully handled."

Lots of Man of Steel viewers agreed, with one fan writing: "Yes even though you know what’s coming, he appears so calm and strong. It’s like he is saying “ no son let my sacrifice be what drives you to show us that we can be better."
Another emotional fan shared: "Me too, I well up every time I watch it."

Unfortunately, we won't get to see Cavill as Superman in any future films after it was confirmed that DC Studios' co-chairmen and CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran were taking the character in a new direction.
On Thursday (15 December) the actor announced on Instagram that he would 'not be returning as Superman' after a meeting with Gunn and Safran, after Gunn confirmed a new Superman film is on the way starring a younger version of the character.
