As if seeing Eddie Munson absolutely slay a cover of 'Master of Puppets' wasn't cool enough, fans have now been treated to a duet between him and Metallica themselves.
Just as we were all getting over the incredible Netflix scene of Max running away from Vecna to the sound of Kate Bush's 'Running Up That Hill', Stranger Things hit us with another immense song choice in the form of 'Master of Puppets'.
Rather than hitting play on a portable tape player, Eddie takes it upon himself to perform the track in the Upside Down to distract Vecna's bats - a scene that would have been hard to improve upon, until Metallica got involved themselves.

Following the release of Stranger Things 4: Volume 2 earlier this month, Metallica has shown its support for the use of its music by welcoming new fans and praising the performance put on by Joseph Quinn, who played Eddie.
They got more involved with the hype around his performance with their post on TikTok earlier this week, which showed the band members wearing Hellfire Club t-shirts in support of Eddie's group (not a cult) and playing their instruments alongside Eddie's scene in Stranger Things.

Given the character's love of metal and rock music there's no doubt the scene would have been a dream come true for Eddie, but it's also captivated fans across the globe as the video has been viewed more than 8 million times at the time of writing (12 July).
Responding to the clip, one viewer wrote: "I’ve never rocked out harder then watching this moment! Hellfire Club Forever!"
Another fan commented: "Eddie's heroes, recognizing a hero."

Even the official Netflix TikTok account shared their love for the clip as they responded: "hellfire club forever."
The post comes after the band encouraged existing fans not to get frustrated at the new hype surrounding the band, which has seen an 400 percent increase in streams following the release of Volume 2.
In response to one fan who told the band they were 'sorry... for all the fake Stranger Things fans', Metallica wrote: "FYI – EVERYONE is welcome in the Metallica Family. Whether you've been a fan for 40 hours or 40 years, we all share a bond through music. All of you started at ground zero at one point in time."

Stranger Things fans will know that we probably won't see Eddie shredding his guitar again in the fifth and final series of the show, but his performance in the Upside Down definitely won't be forgotten any time soon.
