Netflix viewers are gutted that 'Half Bad: The B*stard Son & The Devil Himself' is getting cancelled after one season

Fans are absolutely gutted after Netflix cancelled a series with a near-perfect Rotten Tomatoes score after just one season.

Half Bad: The B*stard Son & The Devil Himself follows the story of two warring clans and the son of a notorious witch responsible for a deadly massacre who tries to find his place in the world.

Jay Lycurgo plays sixteen-year-old Nathan Bryne, the son of the world’s most dangerous witch.

"Fearing he will follow in his father's footsteps, Nathan is closely monitored throughout his childhood", the synopsis reads.

"As the boundaries between ‘good’ and ‘bad’ fray, Nathan - along with mischievous Annalise and charismatic Gabriel - will soon discover who he truly is."

The show is written by Joe Barton and is also based on the Half Bad books by Sally Green.

After Netflix released the show on October 28, it has quickly become a cult classic and viewers can't get their head round why it was cancelled.

"The B*stard Son and The Devil Himself is one of THE BEST shows I’ve seen come out of Netflix in a LONG time. Even outside of Netflix easily Top 3 it’s incredible," one person said.

Another said: "The B*stard Son and The Devil Himself is the best show Netflix has ever put out! I honestly could not stop watching, binged the whole thing barely stopping for bathroom breaks lol."

While someone else wrote: "They canceled half bad: the b*stard son and the devil himself after 1 season. I’m sick to the stomach rn.

"I want Netflix gone. Too many shows have been getting axed way too soon."

"Cuz why in God's name is Netflix canceling The B*stard Son and the Devil Himself??? They took away Sabrina and I let it slide but this?!" another added.

The show was also hugely popular amongst critics and scored a near-perfect Rotten Tomatoes score of 93 percent at the time of writing.

Production company ​​The Imaginarium tweeted: "Half Bad is a show we are incredibly proud of, which gained stellar reviews, along with a fiercely loyal global fanbase.

"While we are disappointed not to continue the story, we have loved working with such a talented cast and crew on bringing our beloved show to life."

Writer Barton also added: "Sadly, yes, Netflix have cancelled this. Very proud of it and really liked the people I got to make it with. Sorry not to be able to finish the story…"
