The director of It Ends With Us has addressed the fate of a sequel to the controversial movie.
The romance drama, which debuted on August 9, is based on the 2016 Colleen Hoover novel of the same name.
Starring Gossip Girl's Blake Lively and Jane The Virgin's Justin Baldoni - who also directs - it follows Lily Bloom, an aspiring florist who falls in love with neurosurgeon Ryle.

Their relationship gradually turns physically and emotionally abusive, while Lily reconnects with high school sweetheart Atlas (Brandon Sklenar).
While the movie was predominantly slammed by critics, earning 55 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, audiences appeared to enjoy the adaptation, rating it 90 percent.
Fans of It Ends With Us - which is now streaming on Netflix in the US, by the way - will no doubt be wondering if there's more to come.

Hoover released a sequel, It Starts With Us, in 2022, which picks up where the first book left off, focusing on Lily and Atlas' relationship.
Now, following whispers of 'high tension' on set, Baldoni has finally spoken on out on whether the second book will be adapted for the big screen.
What were the Blake Lively feud rumors?

Rumors of a feud between Lively and Baldoni began to swirl as the movie's press tour got underway, with the pair seemingly keeping their distance at red carpet events and not appearing in interviews together.
Baldoni even addressed 'friction' on the film's set - but spoke highly of Lively, saying how she 'touched so many aspects of this production' with how 'responsive and reactive' she was, resolving 'everything she touched she made better'.
Speaking of life on set, he told Elle: "There are all these things that happen every day on set, there's always friction that happens when you make a movie like this."
However, Baldoni argued that, in his belief, it's this 'friction' which 'creates the beautiful art'.

And if you're holding out for a sequel, I'm afraid it's not good news.
He told the publication: "I've been hearing the sequel conversations.
"People ask me all the time about sequels. We are in this place where we are just trying to be in the moment.

"And I'm just overwhelmed with gratitude for the lives that this has impacted and changed."
The director added: "So we're not even thinking about a sequel right now. Just enjoying the fact that this movie that's taken years and years to come to fruition is actually having the true impact and is now going to be able to be seen by so many people on Netflix.
"And that's where we are right now."
It Ends With Us is available to stream now on Netflix.
