But the 81-year-old vowed to 'shop' the TV show around, adding: "Good grandparents would try hard to get these kids graduated from high school."
Posting a photo of himself and co-star Debra Jo Rupp meeting fans, he explained in a lengthy caption: "I know you have been asking me when season 3 is coming, but I have tough news…Netflix will not be renewing.
"I just want to take a minute to say THANK YOU to all of the fans everywhere who supported and watched the show. You have come up to me in random parts of the world when I'm traveling and reached out to me through social media and just been so wonderful.
"I've loved every minute of getting to bring Grandpa Red to life for you all."

And a third penned: "Very sad to hear this. That 70s Show has been a favourite since I was 13 (27 now) and I had been loving seeing Red and Kitty be grandparents on That 90s Show. Thank you for bringing us on the Foremans’ next adventure. I will miss you all dearly."
That 90s Show debuted in January 2023 with 10 episodes. Its second, 16-episode season arrived in two halves this summer.
It starred Callie Haverda as Leia Forman, the teenage daughter of Eric Forman (Topher Grace) and Donna Pinciotti (Laura Prepon). The show followed her as she spent the summer of 1995 with her grandparents Red and Kitty (Rupp).

The original show starred Smith, Rupp, Grace and Prepon as well as Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Danny Masterson and Wilmer Valderrama.
That 70's Show ran for eight seasons from 1998 to 2006.
