Die-hard fans of Breaking Bad have just two years left to stream the the cult TV series before it gets axed from Netflix.

Okay, just two years sounds dramatic, but with there being 62 episodes, that's roughly two days and 14 hours of non-stop viewing - which, if you can manage to squeeze in seven shows a week, would take a little over two months to finish.

    So, it's definitely doable

When is Breaking Bad leaving Netflix?

Breaking Bad is set to be removed from our Netflix accounts on April 18, 2027, and fans have hit out at the streaming giant.

Before we explain why the show will be taken down, it's important to understand why customers have reacted angrily... like this one, who wrote on Reddit: "I have until 2027 to get it on Blu-ray, and cancel my Netflix membership. Those are my thoughts."

Netflix has recently announced that prices are set to go up by between $1 and $2.50 a month, more if you have additional members on your account.

That is despite having reported that it made $39 billion last year - an increase of 15 percent on the year before, having received $33.7 billion in 2023.

It also gained 19 million more subscribers worldwide in the final quarter of 2024, taking the streaming service to the 300 million global customers.

Why is Breaking Bad being taken off Netflix?

It's fair to say Netflix has earned enough money to keep cult TV series like Breaking Bad on board... so, why the 2027 exit?

Well, simply put, it's because the licensing is up - although it was initially reported to depart as early as next month, it seems a deal has been struck between Netflix and Sony Pictures Television to extend the license.

Despite initially airing on AMC, it doesn't own the rights - Sony does.

Fans reaction about Breaking Bad leaving Netflix

So, how have fans over on Reddit reacted?

"I was in the middle of a rewatch cus I figured this would be my last chance to see it for a while," one person wrote.

While another typed: "Ironic I just finished the entire series for like the 4th time today. Time to watch it again!"

"Damn I have 2 years left to watch it for the 20th time," penned a third.

Yes, Breaking Bad fans are serious about the program, and they're seemingly all preparing for the worst.

Another added: "Really? I thought it was Feb 2025 it was going to come off. I bought the blu ray dvd set last month!"
