Given how much money is invested in Hollywood blockbusters, it’s not surprising that celebs are under pressure to promote films.
However, the cast of Lord of The Rings seem to be immune to the glare of the spotlight – especially after hearing about their hilarious mock interview.
Trading in the one ring for a microphone, Dominic Monaghan decided to prank his co-star Elijah Wood and even asked if he collects sex toys.

If you haven’t seen the interview, you should probably take a load off of those Hobbit feet and see the clip for yourself.
Hidden amongst DVD menus on Return of The King, the hilarious clip was an Easter egg for die-hard fans back in the noughties.
The clips show Monaghan, who played Merry in the LOTR franchise, posing as a German interviewer who is eager to get the scoop ahead of the 2003 film’s release.
Meanwhile, his castmate Wood is completely unaware that he’s about to be asked a series of increasingly toe-curling questions via satellite.

Things get off to a strong start (pun, intended), by telling the unsuspecting actor that there’s a ‘gay connection’ between him and co-star Sean Astin.
“Sean Astin, your hobbit friend, quoted us, saying you are beautiful man, a beautiful man,” Monaghan tells Wood with glee.
Talk then turns to the A-Lister’s film, Green Street, with the would-be reporter asking him about football.

“You play football? You kick – you kick balls?” asks Monaghan, with his co-star struggling to stay on his seat as he bursts into fits of laughter.
Soon after this, the chat becomes even more X-rated as his co-stars accuses Woods of collecting sex toys.
Unlike the other previous questions though, the LOTR star has a pretty blunt response.

Rather pointedly, Wood tells his co-star ‘no’ and leans back in his chair wondering just how long the interview will go on for.
Of course, the cast and crew do eventually come clean with Monaghan switching back to his normal voice, with no small amount of glee.
“Uh, Elijah, I must finish now, but I must tell you now,” he says, changing back to his regular voice and adding: “…it is Dom Monaghan talking to you.”
Thankfully, his co-star is pretty understanding and swears a bit as he realises he’s been had.

“Brilliant, I knew it, you f**ker,” Woods laughs.
“You f**ker! I f**king knew it! That was f**king brilliant, you ***hole!”
Why can’t all celeb interviews be this fun, eh?
