Friends fans are pointing out a plot hole over 20 years later that's leaving them divided

It's all in the wedding dresses

With 30 years passing since its pilot episode first aired, you'd think viewers would have cracked every nook and cranny there is in Friends by now... but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Starring Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Lisa Kudrow, and the late Matthew Perry, everyone has come to know and love the iconic sitcom - and we likely all have someone in our lives who can quote the show just a little too much for comfort.

Despite it being years - nay, decades - since the show ended, Friends fans are still pointing out plot holes and Easter eggs all this time later.

And this time around, it has to do with the show's wedding dresses - specifically Rachel's.

You see, it all begins with the show's pilot episode that sees Rachel (Aniston) showing up at Central Perk coffee shop in a wedding dress.

While we don't see the wedding dress for some time after that, it presumably makes a reappearance in a season four episode titled, 'The One With All the Wedding Dresses' where Rachel, Monica (Cox), and Phoebe (Kudrow) dilly dally in some wedding dresses after a fitting goes awry.

But an astute Friends fan has pointed out on Reddit that Rachel's wedding dress in that episode looks nothing like her wedding dress in the pilot episode, despite people understanding them to be the same dress.

"I know it's a different dress in real life, but in the SHOW is this supposed to be the same dress?" they asked alongside a side-by-side photo comparing the two dresses.

"I always just thought that Rachel had kept her wedding dress and this was it," another user replied.

"I think it's supposed to be the same dress. They probably got rid of the original and replaced it for this episode hoping no one would notice it was different," another agreed.

However, another user disagreed, writing, "It’s the same dress. What is with everyone?"

"It looks the same in both pictures to me," another noted.

Rachel's divisive wedding dress debacle then sparked another wedding dress debacle — Monica's.

"What drives me nuts is that when Monica is looking at dresses for her own wedding she has one dress on at the store. However, when she’s at the discount place she’s holding a totally different dress but then at her apartment when she tries it on and shows Chandler it’s back to the one she tried on at the first place," a fan on Reddit pointed out.

Another user agreed, writing, "Am I nuts or the dress Monica tries on in the store and the dress she fights Megan for in the store are different dresses? Either way I loved the dress she wound up with way more than the one tried on in store."

"This has ALWAYS bugged me. It was completely different," another user chimed in.

While it's been some time since I've seen Friends, it may be time for a rewatch to hop on the wedding dress craze. Do you notice anything different between all the dresses?
