Time tinkerer Christopher Nolan rarely pulls any punches when it comes to attention to detail in his flicks, and a 'mind-blowing' new theory about Interstellar has only proven this more.

10 years on from its release, TikToker Alex Stark (@stark_verse) has built a hypothesis on the back of a clip which appears on screen for less than five seconds but will change the way you perceive the entire film.

Directed by Nolan, the movie featured a star-studded cast including Matthew McConaughey who plays Joseph Cooper, Matt Damon as Dr. Mann, as well as Michael Caine and Anne Hathaway.

The time-bending movie, which landed a huge score of 8.7 out of 10 on IMDb, follows ex-NASA pilot Cooper who is tasked with finding an alternative planet for humans to live on after Earth becomes uninhabitable.

Taking to the social media platform, Stark said: "I just rewatched Interstellar and I noticed what seems like a mistake - I just cannot un-see this.

"So the same footage is being used twice in completely different contexts. First, right in the beginning when Cooper has his crash dream sequence."

He points at the screen of the aircraft saying 'look at this, remember this footage?', and then skips more than an hour into the movie.

He says: "There [points at the screen], when they're entering Miller's planet['s] atmosphere it's the exact same footage, and at first I thought it was a simple mistake but then I realized, this is Christopher Nolan - Christopher Nolan wouldn't reuse the same footage without a purpose, right?

"It didn't make sense until I looked at it from another perspective.

"This is the opening scene [plays a clip of the movie] and we see a crash in which that person inside that crash realistically should have died, so what if that actually happened?"

Alright let him cook. Stark continued: "What if Cooper actually died in that accident right in the beginning of the movie, and I usually dismiss these Cooper is dead theories, but... I continued watching the movie with this theory in my mind and oh boy, does it change everything.

"So he dies and then everything we see from there is his journey into the afterlife - he can't stay on earth and has to leave."

    Boom.

Safe to say, fans of the movie were mind-blown.

One person commented: "We need Christopher Nolan to confirm this otherwise i won’t sleep for another 6 months."

And they aren't wrong, Nolan if you are reading this please confirm!

It didn't stop there, one person added: "My brain still hurts from Tenet. I'm not ready for an other Christopher Nolan theory."

While another said: "That means, that interstellar has no beginning, and no ending."
