Jennifer Lawrence eyed to play Leonardo DiCaprio's wife in new biopic directed by Martin Scorsese

Martin Scorsese is looking to pair Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence together for his upcoming film

The world could be in for another pairing of Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence in an upcoming flick.

Following the success and acclaim of Killers of the Flower Moon, Martin Scorsese is looking forward to his future projects.

If you have seen his films, you would know how often DiCaprio features and his upcoming project is set to see Leo in the lead alongside Lawrence.

The pair last shared the screen in satirical disaster flick Don’t Look Up, and the duo looked to have great chemistry.

It seems Scorsese is hoping this chemistry continues as the pair are set to play man and wife in a Frank Sinatra biopic, according to a report by Variety.

DiCaprio is set to play the ‘Sultan of Swoon’ with Lawrence slated to star as his second wife - actor Ava Gardner.

Details are a little sparse as no official announcements have been made and it had been believed Tina Sinatra, who controls her father’s estate, hasn’t yet given her blessing.

According to reports both Apple and Sony are interested in the project with early predictions indicating Sony could be the frontrunner to snag the film.

While Scorsese has an impressive body of work, the legendary director has previously said he is running out of time to tell the stories that he wants.

In May of last year, he spoke to Deadline about his future.

The director was asked whether at the age of 80 he still had 'that fire to get right back behind the camera and get the next one going', and he said that he did.

"I wish I could take a break for eight weeks and make a film at the same time. The whole world has opened up to me, but it’s too late. It’s too late.

"I’m old. I read stuff. I see things. I want to tell stories, and there’s no more time.

"Kurosawa, when he got his Oscar, when George [Lucas] and Steven [Spielberg] gave it to him, he said, 'I’m only now beginning to see the possibility of what cinema could be, and it’s too late'.

"He was 83. At the time, I said, 'What does he mean?' Now I know what he means."

Well, all things being well, film fans can only hope Scorsese is able to fulfil his wish of getting out one more brilliant biopic.
