Lady Gaga has addressed the criticism Joker: Folie à Deux (aka Joker 2) faced after its release last year with a dig during her opening monologue on Saturday Night Live.
Joker 2 released in October last year and there was much anticipation for the sequel given the success of 2019's Joker.
Ultimately, the sequel bombed with a 31 percent Rotten Tomatoes score, while it was later revealed the catastrophic amount of money the movie will cost Warner Bros.
Joaquin Phoenix reprised his role as Arthur Fleck in Joker 2 and he was joined by Lady Gaga in the role of Harley Quinn for the 2024 movie.

And while hosting Saturday Night Live yesterday (March 8), Gaga made a swipe at the movie she was involved with.
The singer, real name Stefani Germanotta, said: "I know you might be thinking I’m here to promote my album, Mayhem, but I’m actually here to remind you I’m an amazing actor.
"I’m an actor now. And I’ve been very diligent about selecting films that showcase my craft as a serious actor. Films such as Joker 2... apparently, people thought it was awesome."

The movie scooped up two awards at the Razzies, an awards ceremony that celebrates some of the worst films over the past year.
Gaga certainly wasn't afraid to touch on Joker 2 doing well at the awards show during her opening monologue on SNL.
She added: "Jokes on them, I love winning things. My Razzie brings me one step closer to an Egort; it’s like an Egot, but it’s hurtful."

Actor and comedian Tim Dillon, who had a small role as an Arkham Asylum security guard in Folie à Deux, has also shared his thoughts on the movie during an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, and he didn't hold back.
"It’s the worst film ever made," he said. "I think what happened, after the first ‘Joker,’ there was a lot of talk like, ‘Oh, this was loved by incels. This was loved by the wrong kinds of people. This sent the wrong kind of message. Male rage! Nihilism!’ All these think pieces.
"And then I think, ‘What if we went the other way,’ and now they have Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga tap dancing to a point where it’s insane.”
UNILAD has previously reached out to Warner Bros. for comment.
