Severance star Patricia Arquette has opened up about a hilarious arrangement she thought she'd made with her husband when it came to kissing other people on-screen.
'One of the best TV shows ever' came back on screens last month for its second season, sending fans' heads spinning.
Directed by Ben Stiller, the series stars the likes of Adam Scott and Patricia Arquette, however, it's just as well for the rest of Arquette's co-stars they weren't working with her several years ago after she revealed a bizarre pact she believed she'd made with an ex-partner when it came to filming romantic scenes.

During an appearance on First We Feast's Hot Ones Versus with co-star Scott, Arquette was asked what her 'worst on-screen kiss' has been.
With little hesitation, she admitted: "It's my fault. I was married to somebody at the time and we were young and impressionable. We made a deal that we were going to eat garlic if we had to do a love scene."
And the unlucky recipient of one garlicky kiss happened to be Ewan McGregor - who worked with Arquette on American horror Nightwatch (1997), directed by Ole Bornedal.

The actor continued: "So, I ate garlic before I had to kiss Ewan McGregor and I'm like, 'I'm so sorry but I told my husband I was going to have to eat some garlic.
"But then he had to do a love scene and I'm like, 'Well did you eat garlic'. And he's like, 'I thought we were kidding'. I was like, 'What?!'"
While she didn't name her ex-husband, the video showed photographs of Arquette alongside Nicolas Cage - the pair married from 1995 until 2001.
Thankfully for Scott and and the rest of Arquette's Severance co-stars, the actor realized the garlic pact wasn't binding and so they haven't had to face any pongs of her garlic breath anywhere on set.

Severance follows a group of office workers who've chosen to undergo a medical procedure which sees their memories split between work and their life outside the office - unable to remember their day-to-day office life once they go up that lift.
Arquette stars as manager of the severed floor at Lumon, Harmony Cobel and, well, if you've not binge-watched season two yet, I won't ruin it for you. However, the season - similarly to the first - has been met with raucous applause online.
One Twitter user said: "Severance season 2 episode 4 is like if they invented an episode of television that was better than any episode of television ever."

And another resolved: "Holy sh*t, after watching season 2 episode 4 of severance, it has got to be my favorite show of all time. Since the start Ben Stiller and Dan Erickson have created an incredible story and amazing characters and plopped them into such an intriguing world full of liminal spaces…"
Severance season two is currently available to watch on Apple TV+.
