Imaginations are running wild after Lionsgate released the terrifying poster for the upcoming Saw film which is not for the faint of heart.
The tenth instalment of the long-running film and media franchise is set to be released later this year, with the poster looking like a teaser for one of the new gruesome traps.
For the uninitiated, the Saw films are some of the most stomach-churning in the horror franchise as they focus on victims being put to their limits by trying to survive deadly ‘games’ and ‘traps’ where they must endure immense physical pain and torture in order to make it out alive.

The new Saw film, which is set to spook cinemas just in time for Halloween, is a direct sequel to the very first film - 2004’s Saw - and serves as a prequel to Saw II.
Serial killer John Kramer (Tobin Bell) will be back on screen as the official synopsis states: “Set between the events of Saw and Saw II, a sick and desperate John Kramer travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer — only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable.
"Armed with a newfound purpose, the infamous serial killer returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through devious, deranged and ingenious traps.”

Naturally, fans of the franchise are trying to predict the traps Kramer has in store for his victims, and judging by the poster, at least one person will be at risk of having their eyeballs sucked out of their sockets.
The poster shows a person - who is clearly in agony - attached to two tubes, which are designed to crossover each other in the shape of an X to symbolise it being the tenth film.
After the official Saw Twitter account shared the poster on Wednesday (26 July) one fan wrote: “Oh my God we’re gonna see a man get his eyes sucked out of his skull.”

Another fan suggested: “Suction of the eyes or something pouring in? Excited to find out.”
A third Twitter user wrote: “A jigsaw trap that sucks ur eyes out????”
Someone else quipped: “He’s a firing his lasers haha.”

One confused Twitter user penned: “Not sure what is happening in this poster but holy sh*t it’s scary.”
And as people try to come to terms with Elon Musk overhauling Twitter’s bird logo to an ‘X’, people are apparently spooked out by the letter. “This oddly also works as Twitter’s new logo,” one witty remark read.
Saw X will be released on September 29, 2023.
