It's been two days since the 2024 Golden Globes saw another batch of the biggest names in film presented with their prestigious accolades, and viewers of are STILL talking about this year's juiciest gossip from the annual ceremony.
We saw acting legend Matt Damon surprise his long-time filmmaker pal Ben Affleck with a tear-jerking embrace, and rumors began flying about an alleged feud between Selena Gomez and Kylie Jenner.
Viewers of these illustrious awards were also shocked by Margot Robbie's reaction to smelling Jacob Elordi's Saltburn bathwater candle (ew!), and Taylor Swift was left unimpressed by a joke that host Jo Koy made about her love life.

But there's another heart-warming highlight from Sunday night's (January 7) show that has sent film fans - particularly Star Wars fanatics - into a spin.
We are, of course, talking about the moment that 72-year-old Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamill was 'reunited' with his 42-year-old 'mother' Natalie Portman during an impromptu run-in backstage.
If you're confused as to how that must work, then you need to binge-watch the globally-renowned sci-fi franchise all over again.

That's because Portman actually played the mother of Luke Skywalker, Padmé Amidala, in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, which began in 1997, 20 years after the original Star Wars trilogy, in which Hamill was cast as the main role.
Hamill - also recognized internationally for his impressive theater career on Broadway, having starring in productions of The Elephant Man, Amadeus and The Nerd - shared a snap of the smiling duo on social media, sending fans wild.
"Now I have finally met my 'mother,' thanks to the @goldenglobes," he penned on X.

One fan wrote: "Love this!!! Can’t believe it took so long!!!"
Another added: "This is INCREDIBLE!!!!"
While a third joked: "Seems to have gone better than your meeting with your father."
And someone else commented: "OMG. LEGENDS. ICONS."

Both Hamill and Portman - who following her stint in space went on to star in the likes of V for Vendetta, The Other Boleyn Girl and Black Swan - have joked in the past about never having met in person, despite their cinematic relationship.
Padmé - who with Anakin Skywalker (later, Darth Vadar) welcomed twins Luke and Leia in 2005's Revenge of the Sith - of course, passed away during childbirth in the later movies.
Hamill previously teased: "When I saw that Natalie Portman was my mother, I thought holy moly.

"A woman that beautiful has a kid that looks like this? I'm not buying it. I should look way more handsome."
Asked by comedian Stephen Colbert whether the two had ever crossed paths, Portman also previously said: "I would love to meet him. Mark, I would love to meet you. Come over!"
