Every now and again you come across a movie that shakes you to the core - though it's not often they feature someone as wholesome as Stanley Tucci.
The actor has previously taken on iconic and more lighthearted roles in movies like The Devil Wears Prada and Easy A, though he's no stranger to an intense drama either.
In fact, he takes on a much darker role in this particular star-studded flick, acting alongside Saoirse Ronan, Mark Wahlberg, Rachel Weisz and Susan Sarandon.

In the movie, Tucci takes on the role of George Harvey; a man who lives alone in an unassuming neighborhood in Pennsylvania.
Ronan plays his neighbor; 14-year-old Susie Salmon, whose life takes a tragic turn one day when she turns off into a cornfield for her usual shortcut home from school.
The events that unfold throughout the movie are heartbreaking, tense and gripping, as Susie's family close in on the person responsible and desperately try to get to the bottom of what happened to their little girl.

Titled The Lovely Bones, the movie is based on a book of the same name by Alice Sebold and was directed by Peter Jackson.
It has been praised by viewers online who have described it as 'heartbreaking' and 'haunting'.
"This movie truly traumatised me, I don’t think I could ever rewatch it, and I'm from the original Exorcist generation," one viewer wrote.

Viewers aren't the only ones who have had tough experiences with the movie, as Tucci himself admitted taking on the role of George Harvey was 'horrible'.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Tucci said: "I would not play George Harvey again in ‘The Lovely Bones,’ which was horrible.
"It’s a wonderful movie, but it was a tough experience. Simply because of the role.”

Tucci went on to recall asking Jackson why he cast him in the role, admitting he even 'tried to get out of playing' it.
"I was like, ‘Why do you want me?’ And he said, ‘Because you’re funny.’ And I thought, ‘Okay’," he recalled.
"But I understand what he was saying. I think what he meant was that I wouldn’t be too — not that I wouldn’t be serious about it, but that I wouldn’t be overly dramatic about it. That I would throw it away a bit. Which is what you have to do when you’re playing somebody who’s that awful, right?”
To find out just how awful Tucci's character is, you can watch The Lovely Bones on Max and Amazon Prime Video.
