When you think of Nicolas Cage's best work, you probably think of films like National Treasure, Valley Girl, Leaving Las Vegas, or Raising Arizona.
However, Nicolas Cage, himself, does not think of any of those films.
The actor listed off his top five favourite Nick Cage movies during a recent appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert - but fans aren't too impressed with his picks.

Don't worry, he didn't pick anything outrageous like The Wicker Man, Kick Ass, Rage, or It Could Happen To You.
But his choices definitely weren't what fans were expecting.
"What are Nick Cage’s top five Nick Cage films?" Colbert asked Cage, who was on to promote his new film Renfield.

"Okay I'm gonna start with Pig, that's my favourite movie I've ever made," he began.
A valid choice, to be fair.
The 2021 film was nominated for all sorts of awards after its release and has an impressive 97 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Nick continued: "I love Mandy, the movie that Panos [Cosmatos] directed.

"I love Bringing Out The Dead, the movie that Martin Scorsese directed."
Mandy (2018) was an action horror film that starred Cage as Red Miller, who, with his partner Mandy Bloom, finds his peaceful nature haven destroyed by a horrific cult.
And Bringing Out The Dead (1999) saw the actor as a mentally and physically exhausted paramedic from Manhattan, who tries to keep his head on straight while dealing with hallucinations about all the people who he couldn't save on the job.

Naming his number four and five, Cage told Colbert: "I loved Bad Lieutenant, [directed by] Verner Herzog,
"And I loved a movie called Joe that David Gordon Green directed."
He starred in the 2009 version of Bad Lieutenant alongside Eva Mendes and Val Kilmer.
And, in the 2013 film Joe, Cage played the titular character, a kind Southern man with a violent streak he's trying to keep quiet. But when he finds out the youngest member of his lumber crew is dealing with an abusive father, it gets harder for Joe to contain himself.

They're all great film choices - and who would know better about Nicolas Cage films than the man himself?
But his fans are shocked and disgusted that their favourite films didn't make it into his top five.
"Kinda surprised he [chose] Joe over Adaption," tweeted one fan.
"I was hoping one would be Wild At Heart," admitted another.
"Valley Girl forever and always," argued a third.
And a fourth warned: "I’m sorry but if The Rock and Face/Off are not here, I’m not for it."
How will we ever stop fighting if Nicolas Cage keeps making all these fantastic (bar The Wicker Man) films???!
