Pikachu has rather let the side down after unleashing a torrent of swear words on the official Pokémon TikTok account.
What seemed at first like a nice, wholesome sing-a-long of 'If You're Happy and You Know It Clap Your Hands' with Lucario, this was thrown into disrepute when Pikachu debuted a very sweary version of the tune.
Instead of the family-friendly lyrics, the Pokémon sung: "If you're f**king happy and you motherf**king know it, clap your motherf**king hands."

Nintendo quickly deleted the foul-mouthed video once they realised what had happened, though not before people were able to share the footage across social media.
Spare a thought for the poor, unfortunate intern who has to explain how the video got posted without realising it was full of swear words in the first place.
Plenty of Pokémon fans found the TikTok gaffe absolutely hilarious, joking that Pikachu had 'gone rogue' after splitting off from Ash and calling it a 'glorious moment'.

Many declared that this moment coming from the official Pokémon TikTok means 'Pikachu canonically says f**k', even if in most previous appearances he's mostly stuck to shouting his own name.
Some thought this was just Pikachu unfiltered, saying he was '110 percent cussing people out' on the anime but we just couldn't hear it because Pokémon can't speak, with a few notable exceptions such as Meowth (that's right).
People wondered whether this was the biggest Pokémon related blunder of all time, though it has tough competition in the form of that episode that gave some kids seizures.
Others saw Lucario, the other Pokémon in the video, just standing there in apparent disbelief at Pikachu's vile outburst and felt it perfectly underlined the utter ridiculousness of the world's most iconic Pokémon dancing around yelling f**k.

Given this foul-mouthed outburst on the official Pokémon TikTok, perhaps it's just as well that Pikachu is getting retired.
The iconic electric mouse will no longer be the star of the show after Ash Ketchum finally became the very best, like no one ever was and became the Pokémon world champion.
The 10-year-old Pokémon trainer has been at this for 25 years with Pikachu by his side and the pair will be making way for new protagonists and Pokémon to be featured in upcoming seasons of the anime.

What's next for Ash and Pikachu is unknown, though the Pokémon might want to go in for some sensitivity training and learn that swearing on the internet is not very good for the brand image.
While he doesn't like being inside a PokéBall, it might be better if Pikachu spent a bit of time out of the public eye.
