Vengeance is upon us; Robert Pattinson is The Batman, and fans already think his voice is the best to ever hit the big screen.
Pattinson's casting as the caped crusader, rather predictably, provoked a backlash from some corners. For those who haven't followed his body of work since Twilight, he didn't seem like a good fit, especially after Ben Affleck's hulking dark knight.
Yet, with every single trailer, he's looking more and more like the best Batman we've ever seen; brutal, brooding and intimidating, dispatching goons with little mercy. Then there's his voice, which has sent fans into a frenzy ahead of the movie's release.
In a new TV spot for The Batman, we get one of the most spine-tingling quotes from Pattinson's Bat yet: 'They think I’m hiding in the shadows, watching, waiting to strike... but I am the shadows.'

After being shared online, it sparked hype among Batfans. 'Best Batman voice of the cinematic versions,' one user wrote. 'It really is perfect voice imo. Deep yet, calm. Intimidating as well. I hope he will maintain it unlike Bale did while switching from Batman Begins to TDK,' another tweeted.
'You are the shadows and I am h*rny from the way you delivered that line, sir,' a third wrote. 'This might just be the coolest Batman live we’ve ever gotten in the movies,' another wrote. 'Obviously we've already known this quote from the journal but hearing Rob say it is one of the most f*cking RAW Batman quotes I've ever heard and I've heard them all,' a fifth tweeted.
Matt Reeves' movie will follow Bruce Wayne (Pattinson) after 'two years of stalking the streets... striking fear into the hearts of criminals. With only a few trusted allies – Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis), Lt. James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright) – amongst the city’s corrupt network of officials and high-profile figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens', the official synopsis reads.
When The Riddler (Paul Dano) begins targeting 'Gotham’s elite with a series of sadistic machinations', cryptic clues see Batman encounter the likes of Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz) and The Penguin (Colin Farrell).

'As the evidence begins to lead closer to home and the scale of the perpetrator’s plans becomes clear, Batman must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit, and bring justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued Gotham City,' it adds.
The Batman hits cinemas on March 4.
