Robert Pattinson's girlfriend was in tears while watching The Batman for the first time.
Ever since Batfans got a small glimpse of Matt Reeves' upcoming take on the caped crusader, tears of hype have been flowing; if you're not getting butterflies when RPatz pummels a pale-faced goon, or when his silhouette walks in front of the flames to that incredible theme, I feel sorry for you.
We've seen so many approaches to Batman: Adam West made him campy and fun; Michael Keaton is the closest we've come to Bruce Wayne being a real weirdo; and Christian Bale is the definitive Batman for many. Incredibly, it seems Pattinson and Reeves have forged something completely unique - and the star's girlfriend was taken aback by it all.
Pattinson recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to talk about The Batman. While discussing what it was like to try on all of the Batsuits and Bale's rather unusual piece of advice, he also revealed how his girlfriend, Suki Waterhouse, reacted to the film.

'I was absolutely terrified. I haven’t been this scared to release a movie in such a long time and I haven’t released a movie in a really long time,' Pattinson recalled before watching it, admitting he needs 'to be in the perfect balance of serotonin to watch his own stuff. I need to work out beforehand, I need to have an enormous amount of sugar and caffeine. Whatever I’m watching, I’m like, yes!'
'I watched it with my girlfriend as well. It was really her reaction that kind of changed the entire thing,' he revealed. 'I’m pretty sure she’s not normally into watching superhero movies. And just seeing that it was capturing her attention the entire time, and then she held my hand and just touched it right [on her cheek]. I could feel a little tear. And I was like, no way.'
During a recent interview with GQ, Pattinson also spoke about Waterhouse winding him up when someone came round to fix the boiler. 'The guy came around the other day, and he just randomly started talking about what a DC [Comics] fan he is,' he said.

'And I’m sitting there facing the other direction, and my girlfriend just keeps continuing the conversation with him. And I’m looking at her like... shut the f*ck up! Why are you doing this to me? She was very entertaining. Just talking to an obsessive fan.'
The Batman hits cinemas on March 4.
