We’ve had the bear absolutely off it on cocaine and killer sharks ruining people’s holidays. But what about the evil side of those adorable, sleepy sloths?
A new trailer has dropped for a killer sloth movie and rather than terrifying them, it’s got people in absolute stitches.
Directed by Matthew Goodhue, Slotherhouse is a new horror film. Well, make that horror-comedy.

In a style just like the teen comedies of the golden ages (the 00’s, obviously), the movie follows college senior Emily Young, who aims to be voted president of her sorority.
And just like any other regular teen, she adopts an adorable sloth – you know, those classic house pets.
Emily hopes the sweet sloth will steal the hearts of her sorority sisters, which it kind of does so she wasn’t wrong there.
However, bodies begin to pile up in their Sigma Lambda Theda house and the girls realise the prime murderous suspect is their cuddly mascot, Alpha.

The trailer opens with a young woman in the mirror with something shaking in the shower behind her. She opens the curtain, just for a sloth to stab her in the face.
The trailer is full of screams, the sloth using a laptop and creeping up at the end of a girl’s hospital bed.
Unsurprisingly, social media users are having an absolute field day in the comments section of the clip, tagging their mates on Facebook with strings of laughing faces.

Plenty compare it to other movies, writing: “This is right up Cocaine Bear alley.”
And others agree: “Well, we already had Sugar White Bear. What better to have a killer sloth movie.”
On YouTube, viewers say ‘cinema has truly peaked’ and add: “Finally a movie that demonstrates the full potential of The Sloth.”
And others admit: “Must… watch… can’t… fight… it hahahaha.”

One even quipped: “I’ve always thought sloths are secretly evil but their just too slow to act upon their evil intentions.”
Although another said: “I'm just loving how we are slowly coming back to original movie ideas. Starting off with Cocaine Bear, Now onto killer sloths. This looks like another fun animal dark comedy/horror flick. Looks like fun ride.”
Slotherhouse hits cinemas on 30 August 2023 and was inspired by ‘iconic cinema with a dedication to pratical effects’. Producers told Variety: “It’s an homage to our favourite creature features and slashers with a FURocious horror icon for the modern world. Slotherhouse is simply bonkers.”
