*Warning: spoilers for the end of Stranger Things season four below*
Stranger Things fans have spotted that one character's death in the season four finale was foreshadowed right from the start.
The finale to season four of Stranger Things is out and honestly it wasn't actually as deadly as we were expecting.

Sure, Hawkins has been split open and we bid a hearbreaking goodbye to Eddie (Joseph Quinn) who was killed by demo-bats after a legendary performance of Metallica's Master of Puppets in the upside down.
Meanwhile, poor Max (Sadie Sink) has been left with broken bones and possibly permanently blinded after being saved from Vecna's (Jamie Campbell Bower) clutches only at the last second, but she's still set to return for the fifth and final season.
While we'll miss our sweet rock star prince Eddie, he was only introduced this season and Max hasn't actually died, while our original cast of regulars since season one are all basically fine.

Still, some less beloved characters also got killed during the season finale including high school jock Jason (Mason Dye), who spent most of season four hunting down Eddie.
Introduced as the new king of Hawkins High School, Jason had been trying to take revenge for girlfriend Chrissy (Grace Van Dien) - the first of Vecna's victims.
Jason's hunt led him to the house where Max and Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) were trying to distract Vecna, where he assumed Lucas was trying to kill Max and attacked.

His fate was sealed when Vecna split open Hawkins as Jason was caught over one of the openings and disintegrated.
Some fans have spotted that his death was foreshadowed right from the start of season four when he told Lucas he'd be 'split in two' after his first hangover.
Fast forward to the Stranger Things season four finale and Jason is literally split in two as he dies, and even better is how Lucas is there to witness the whole thing.
At first a lot of fans didn't even notice he'd been killed, his death coming in such a 'blink and you'll miss it' moment that many didn't even spot it the first time around.

While plenty of fans cried over Eddie's heartbreaking death, not many Stranger Things viewers are all that cut up about Jason dying.
In the end he wasn't very nice, and even while he was out of the loop on Vecna, his getting the whole town to hunt down Eddie and threatening to kill Lucas made him very unsympathetic.
Some fans even took to social media to say they cheered when he died, which if anything is a testament to how well Jason's actor did in his one and only season in the spotlight.
Stranger Things season four is available to stream on Netflix now.
