When watching The Boys, it seems that Amazon has no limit to the insane s**t it lets Eric Kripke put on our screens.
Whether it be The Deep f**king an octopus, a self-human centipede scene, or honestly, most shocking of all – the numerous shots at Amazon – there doesn’t appear to be a line for what The Boys can put on screen.
That is in no way a complaint; however, whatever you feel about the excessiveness of The Boys' pro-d**k lasering or anti-d**k lasering – it's always a good thing when it seems like creatives have been given full reign to do whatever they want.
We sat down with The Boys creator Eric Kripke and exclusively asked him about this, and how much freedom he is given by Amazon.

Whilst he initially stated that he has never been told no, he goes on to give the only thing Amazon has ever asked him not to do.
When asked whether he’s ever been asked not to include something, Kripke said: “They haven't, I have to say, they've been really amazing.
"You know, even when we're taking, like, shots at Amazon, I mean, they just, they're very open, and they give us an incredible amount of freedom.”

He added: “You know, they made a very respectful request this season to not have so much graphic octopus f**king.
"Because apparently, standards, you know, content and standards, has certain FCC rules against bestiality.”
The show’s third season involved a subplot in which The Deep was caught f**king an octopus by Starlight.
Whilst there is less octopus f**king in season four, the octopus has actually had an expanded role in season four – and is also voiced by Tilda Swinton.

If the closest The Boys ever gets to overt censorship from Amazon is being asked to include less octopus banging – I think we can all agree that’s probably fine.
If you don’t, then you belong on a watchlist.
When we jokingly asked whether you can even make anything nowadays, he said: “I know it's like, it's such a woke society, that you just have to let go of the octopus f**king in all of its glory.”

Jokes aside, by all accounts – Kripke is getting all he wants from Amazon when it comes to The Boys - and that appears to be a recipe for success.
With only one more season of The Boys to go the question now becomes: how do they even top what they've managed to get away with so far?
