Streamer Dr DisRespect hints he may quit permanently as he takes indefinite break after Twitch allegations

Popular streamer Dr DisRespect has hinted he may quit permanently as he takes an indefinite break following damning Twitch allegations.

The 42-year-old content creator, whose real name is Herschel 'Guy' Beahm IV, was banned from Twitch in 2020, but the platform refused to offer an explanation for his ban at the time.

Dr DisRepsect then moved all of his streaming over to YouTube but on Friday (22 June), a former Twitch employee came forward with allegations about Beahm's ban, alleging he had been 'sexting a minor'.

The Verge also reported that a second Twitch employee had come forward to corroborate the allegations.

Following all this, Doc announced at the end of his most recent stream that he would take an extended vacation, even hinting that he may not come back to streaming all together.

The streamer told his fans that he's 'burned out' with 'all this', referring to social media and streaming on YouTube.

He also said that it might be time to step away, stop being in front of the camera and use his talents elsewhere.

"But I think, first and foremost though, I did have a bit of a planned vacation coming up, but I might extend that starting today," he said.

"It is what it is. People get fatigued. To be honest, I don’t know how long my vacation is, but maybe I extend that. We’ll see."

It remains unclear how long Dr Disrespect plans on being away from streaming but he mentioned that 'maybe it’s time to start something new, something different'.

As a result of recent allegations, Studio Midnight Society, which Dr DisRespect co-founded, publicly announced its decision to cut ties with him.

Alluding to all the news in recent days, the studio penned: "On Friday evening we became aware of an allegation against one of our co-founder’s Guy Beahm aka Dr Disrespect.

"We assumed his innocence and began speaking with parties involved. And in order to maintain our principles and standards as a studio and individuals, we needed to act.

"For this reason, we are terminating our relationship with Guy Beahm immediately."

Social media users have since pointed to a noteworthy moment in one of Dr DisRespect's streams that took place shortly before the announcement.

In the clip, the streamer appeared to look down at his phone after receiving a message.

After digesting its contents, fans claimed they saw his mood 'immediately shift'.
