Having lived through the pandemic, most people couldn’t think of anything worse than being confined to a small space.

However, one Twitch streamer has locked himself in a dark closet for three days and is allowing viewers to ‘torture’ him.

It’s part of a bizarre trend on the platform, with other users also undertaking similarly grim challenges. (Yes, really!)

For those that are curious though, you can still watch IZIDORE endure his unenviable task.

The Twitch streamer is currently confined to a dark closet that is barely big enough to stretch in.

Under the gaze of a night vision camera, the man can be seen on his live stream in just his shorts - having already endured hours of ‘torture’.

The challenge has become a bizarre trend on Twitch.

In the chat, followers are able to purchase various ‘torture’ items with a flashbang costing just 25 bits ($0.25/19p).

Other methods include a water shooter, a leaf blower, ping pong balls, earache-inducing sound and eggs being thrown at him by his girlfriend June (and they say romance is dead).

In an interview with Dexerto, his long-suffering partner actually revealed this wasn’t his first attempt at such as challenge.

She told the outlet: “I think he’s expecting to lose his mind and come out victorious on the other side better for it.”

“I honestly expect him to complete the challenge – he has been doing challenges like this for like 4 years and has never quit yet."

Even more bizarrely, he’s not the only one to take up the closet challenge.

In fact, the strange saga began earlier this month with the well-known streamer ERBY challenging his moderator, c0usta, to survive being 'torture' in a dark closet.

Despite being offered a new car in exchange for lasting three days, c0usta quit around the 24-hour mark – proving that the 2005 Chevrolet Suburban wasn't tempting enough.

The streamer is currently trying to get some shut eye.

You’d think that would be the end of it, but streamers will seemingly do anything for attention.

Shortly after this, IZIDORE also took up the challenge – which feels eerily similar to the Black Mirror episode.

However, the US-based user won’t be taking home fifteen million merits if he completes the three-day challenge. Instead, he’ll be trying to avoid tapping out altogether or face the punishment of his car being totalled.

His girlfriend June explained his reasoning, saying: “He’s good friends with Erby, the guy who did it last week, and when Cousta [the mod] quit the challenge, Izi set up the exact same challenge here to prove that he can do it.”

With over 61 hours still remaining, his 36,800 followers have been tuning in to find out what is more effective: the carrot or the stick.

Well, here’s hoping he makes it to Wednesday.
