First it was Kate Bush who got a big boost in popularity after one of her songs featured prominently on Stranger Things, now it's Metallica.
The legendary heavy metal band's song Master of Puppets featured prominently in the season finale to Stranger Things.
In what has been described by some as the most iconic scene in the show's history, series newcomer Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) played the song as a distraction to give his friends a chance at taking out bad guy Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower).
It really doesn't get any more metal than shredding a guitar in the upside down to distract a swarm of monstrous demobats with lightning flashing in the background and fans absolutely loved the scene.

While it was Kate Bush and Running Up That Hill that jumped to the top of the Spotify charts thanks to the show's efforts in earlier episodes, now people want to hear as much Metallica as possible.
According to Billboard, the band have seen a 400% increase in streams of Master of Puppets after Eddie's incredible performance on Stranger Things.
Some fans have even launched an attempt to get the song to the top of the UK charts in a tribute to Eddie's character and the brilliance of Metallica's music.

The band have fully embraced the new fans and to Stranger Things using their song for such a cool moment in the season finale.
Taking to Instagram, they posted that they were 'beyond psyched' for Master of Puppets to be in the show and play such a major part in the final episode.
They wrote: "The way the Duffer brothers have incorporated music into Stranger Things has always been next level, so we were beyond psyched for them to not only include 'Master of Puppets' in the show, but to have such a pivotal scene built around it.
"We were all stoked to see the final result and when we did we were totally blown away... it’s so extremely well done, so much so, that some folks were able to guess the song just by seeing a few seconds of Joseph Quinn’s hands in the trailer!! How crazy cool is that?"
Another incredible detail about the song Stranger Things fans have realised is how quickly Eddie must have learned it as Master of Puppets released in 1986, the same year season four of the show is set.

That's also Quinn playing the song himself in the scene as the actor 'manically started practicing' as soon as he read the script for the final episode of the Netflix show.
The actor explained that Stranger Things creators the Duffer brothers had no other song in mind for the iconic scene beyond Metallica's incredible hit.
In the end no other song would have been quite as fitting, and now Metallica gets to reap some of the rewards from a massive boost in streaming.
All of Stranger Things season four is available to stream now on Netflix.
