Taylor Swift is a Shakira fan and it looks like Shakira might also be a Swifty after her performance at the MTV Video Music Awards.
It's nice to know that even music megastars can take some time out of their day to let their proverbial hair down and have bit of a boogie to a banging tune.
It's even nicer when the famous figures start throwing compliments at each other on social media to tie up this wholesome ensemble.

Shakira was on stage performing 'Whenever, Wherever' when the camera spotted Taylor Swift in the audience dancing and singing along as she generally looked like she was having the time of her life.
There can surely be no greater compliment for a musician than to have a famous peer clearly enjoying the song and treating it like the bop it is.
Shakira dug Taylor's dancing so much that she posted a clip of it to her Instagram and called it a 'real treat' to see Swift having such a good time.

She also said 'big fan', though whether she was happy that Swift was a big fan of hers or whether she was joining the massed ranks of Swifties all over the world is unclear, maybe it's both.
Swift has plenty of reasons to joyfully throw some shapes on the dancefloor as at the same event she was overjoyed to witness the reunion of NSYNC for the first time in 10 years to present the 'Best Pop' accolade at the VMAs.
Even better for Swift was that her song 'Anti-Hero' ended up the winner in what turned out to be a great night for her overall, with the track picking up 'Video of the Year', 'Song of the Year' and 'Best Direction'.
On top of that, any fans worrying if she had some sort of 'beef' with Olivia Rodrigo will have been soothed by the singer's comments that she doesn't 'have beef with anyone'.

Swift recently became the first woman in history to break the 100 million listeners a month barrier on Spotify, which must be pretty darn great.
Just this year she's been the first woman to have four albums in the top 10 charts at the same time, hit the high point of the most number one albums by a woman in history, had the most streamed Country album in a day on Spotify, saw five consecutive years where she had a number one album and we've got to take a pause before we keep listing achievements. Phew!
As if that wasn't enough, she was also the first woman to have songs from three albums in the top 10 and held the most attended concert in the US for any woman ever.

So she's got plenty of reasons to dance and be happy.
