CCTV footage sees a cashier getting himself ready to defend his workplace.
The footage, shared on Reddit, shows a store clerk arming himself as he sees a suspicious person approaching the store.
Just as the clerk clutches his gun, the individual approaches the checkout.

Wearing a hoodie and a mask, the would-be thief says something to the clerk before handing him a bag to get money from the till.
They then put their gun on the counter facing the worker.
At first, it seems as though the clerk is going to comply, swiping his card to access the till.
However, the worker then grabs the gun he'd readied earlier and points it at the would-be thief.

As he does, the individual grabs the empty bag and walks off, with the cashier keeping his gun pointed at him.
People were quick to respond to the clip on Reddit, with one user writing: "It must be a rough part of the world for the Cashier to draw just on suspicion. Smart move on him though."
Another added: "Hilarious how the would-be robber took back his loot bag."

A third chimed in: "Other guy was like no thanks I’m not looking for that. But is environmentally friendly taking his reusable shopping bag."
Another wrote: "I was a convenience story clerk for a while and got robbed. One thing I’ll never forget is how he kept saying, ‘put all the money in the bag!’ But the dude didn’t bring his own bag. Such an amateur."
One suggested that the cashier might've owned the store: "Most likely his own place. I can't think of good reason why you'd defend it like that if it wasn't your own money."

Another said: "I saw this on another subreddit and in a comment, someone posted a link to his Facebook where he gave an update about it saying he quit there after this happened."
One user praised the cashier's actions: "There was no confirmation the hooded man intended to rob the store. He was giving the benefit of the doubt. Once the threat was made, cashier was ready."
Another, however, said: "... no amount of money from a store that is insured is worth risking your life for. Most gas stations will tell people to just hand the money, and is why they only keep a couple hundred in the till."
