Donald Trump has returned to social media — well, kind of, considering it's his own TRUTH Social platform.
As we all remember, the former US president was ejected from Twitter in the wake of the deadly Capitol riots 'due to the risk of further incitement of violence'. More bans followed, to the point Trump felt forced to launch his own firm for his embittered MAGA supporters.
Last year, he unveiled Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), from which he’s spawned his own social network TRUTH Social, created ‘to stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech’. It's been marred with issues such as potential copyright claims and hacks, but it'll officially launch next week.

Donald Trump Jr. posted a screenshot of his father's first post on TRUTH Social to Twitter. 'Time for some Truth!' he wrote, with Trump's post reading, 'Get ready! Your favourite president will see you soon.' As a result, Trump quickly started trending on the platform he's been banned on.
'TRUTH Social is America’s 'Big Tent' social media platform that encourages an open, free, and honest global conversation without discriminating against political ideology,' according to its website.
Are you unsure what 'Big Tent' even means? 'Big Tent is a new way to describe 'inclusivity' in America,' according to its App Store page.
'Think of a giant outdoor event tent at your best friend’s wedding. Who’s there? The combination of multiple families from all over the United States, and the world. Uncle Jim from Atlanta is a proud libertarian. Aunt Kellie from Texas is a staunch conservative. Your cousin John from California is a die-hard liberal. And guess what? They’re all together to have an amazing time and share their viewpoints of the world. Although we don’t always agree with each other, we welcome these varied opinions and welcome the conversation,' it continues.
'Let your voice be heard. Sign up, join the conversation, and share your unique opinion by posting a TRUTH, Re-TRUTH, photo, news story, or video link to communicate with your friends, customers, and the world. Stay informed about breaking news while staying directly connected with the people who influence you – don’t be shocked if they take your TRUTH viral!'

TRUTH Social may have its excited users, but it's attracted broad scepticism, with Twitter users branding it the 'latest in a long line of failing Trump scams designed to grift the MAGA lemmings'.
