While you'd think being a delivery driver would be a pretty straight forward job, that is far from the case.
The obvious issue with the likes of DoorDash is tipping - something that is a hugely divisive topic no matter what industry you are in.
One driver refused to deliver order up nine flights of stairs after only getting $1 tip while another threw a customer's order on the ground because they didn't tip.

The delivery service has even issued a warning to customers who choose not to leave a tip.
There are many complications to any job, and with DoorDash it can sometimes be that people claim their food has not been delivered when it actually has.
Yes, sometimes food doesn't turn up, whether that be because it has been delivered to the wrong address or because the driver has eaten it.

However, some people claim the food has not arrived when it, in fact, has.
Typically, this is in the hope of getting a refund and essentially getting the meal for free.
And one DoorDash driver has posted a TikTok showing how they dealt with someone who had 'lied' about not receiving their order.
The video shows the driver walking up to a door, where there are a number of bags sitting right in front of it.

They explain that the person in the flat has claimed that they have not received their order, even though it's very clearly sitting in the corridor outside.
The driver knocks on the door and confronts the customer about their claim.
She explains that she has already been given a 'violation' on the app, which could mean that she gets blocked from if it happens too many times.

The customer said that they didn't know that the food had been delivered, and claimed that they had been asleep.
In response the driver explained that they already had the violation, but that if the customer was asked again by DoorDash they needed to tell the company that the order had been delivered.
People had a lot of thoughts on the video, and took to the comments to share their opinions.
One questioned why the customer hadn't checked the doorstep before claiming that the food hadn't arrived, writing: "I don’t understand... why not check your door before making a report… was it not there? I don't get it."

Another said that better verification would help, commenting: "They need a better way of confirming these disputes doordash & instacart I saw a girl lose her instacart job 2 weeks ago."
A third pointed out that a similar thing had happened to them where they wren't aware that their order had arrived.
They posted: "This has happened to me, they didn't even knock or call or even let me know its outside on the floor, just said its delivered, at least knock the door!"
One person even suggested that customers should also get 'violations', for example for placing orders and then abandoning them, or falsely claiming that they've arrived.
