A man who consumed Chick-fil-A every day for a year has revealed it made drastic changes to his body.
Turning to fast food isn't the usual diet method health experts recommend, yet that's what one Rhode Island man decided to do to shed some pounds.
Tom Carroll, a digital content producer for a local radio station in Boston, didn't just indulge in a Chick-fil-A meal as a treat every so often, but chowed down on a particular order every single day and, give or take a few times for travel reasons, managed to do so without fail for an entire year.

Tom revealed in his essay, 'Chick-fil-A Saved My Life,' that the fast food restaurant came to change his life 'forever' and hopes others will be inspired by his extreme method.
He said he was first motivated to lose weight after a wedding in New York in July 2023, where he came in at 360 pounds.
Tom admitted he had 'never seen it so high' but it probably had been higher prior to stepping on the scales.

"I never would have known," he wrote, "Because that was the first time I had stepped on a scale since the fall of 2019."
Seeing the 360 number, Tom said: "I was numb with disbelief."
The 34-year-old noted how he 'looked bad' in many of the snaps from the Syracuse wedding, with his clothes fitting uncomfortably and the summer heat causing him to sweat profusely 'as if I had just gone bobbing for apples.'
He was also suffering from chest pains but a trip to the doctor's office in 2019 scarred him from going back, so this time he decided to take matters into his own hands.

He initially made small changes to his diet, such as cutting late-night fast food trips, sodas, and snacking between meals, but the journey was bumpy, to say the least.
Tom soon spotted a pattern between his booze-filled nights, hangovers and food binges, and that his diet would go 'on, off, on off, on, off' as a result.
"There was no rhyme or reason to any of it," he explained. "When the '360' would flash in my head, I would order a salad with no croutons."

Eventually, he says his 'day of reckoning' came on Black Friday 2023 when he was indulging on Thanksgiving leftovers, which brought the chest pains back with a vengeance.
This not only prompted him to ditch alcohol there and then, but introduce Chick-fil-A's Spicy Southwest Salad with grilled chicken.
"After years of dieting here-and-there, always finding myself 'relapsing' out of sheer boredom from the mundane lifestyle of cutting out fun foods, I had found something that checked all the boxes," he wrote. "Not only was this salad delicious, it felt like a real treat while also being healthy."
From then on, Tom vowed to eat the salad at least once a day, driving four miles to the South Attleboro branch to buy two at a time (one for the day and another for the next).

By December 11, he dropped to 298 pounds, and then 234 pounds in July 2024 before hitting 228 in December 12 last year.
"I am filled with regret for not being selfish and choosing myself earlier than I did," Tom added, as he urged others to read his essay as their own wake-up call.
"Just because you think you’re the life of the party, doesn’t mean the party is going to stop without you.
"Give yourself the opportunity to be the life of the party for a very long time. You won't regret it. I promise."
