New Update On The Sims Has Accidentally Added Incest Amongst Characters

The Sims 4 underwent a few changes earlier this week and some gamers have claimed their sims are acting...very strangely.

The popular video game underwent a major update on July 26, allowing players to experience some cool add-ons that include curved walls, body hair, and new wants and fears, according to Kotaku.

However, with the new changes, some game players have their sims partaking in incest. 

Triple Yikes.

One user shared on Reddit that their character was trying to ask out their son.

This understandably sent users into a tizzy, as one person responded: “I genuinely don't know how they missed something as basic and obvious as excluding family members from romantic whims, especially because this is not their first ‘incest’ related bug, so you would guess they would have learned their lesson already."

Another commented: “Because EA doesn’t properly test their game updates before release?”

While another disclosed: “My sim got a whim to ask their aunt to be their girlfriend...Now fortunately it changed to them wanting to ask their friend to be their boyfriend.”

Another player also shared via the EA Games website that their sim wanted to ask out their twin sister. 

Aside from the ‘incest’ issue, players also report that their characters are ageing rapidly. Strangely, some are noticing their sims have aged from babies to elderly in a matter of minutes.

In response to the rapid ageing complaints, The Sims stated via Twitter: “Hey Simmers! We are currently investigating instances involving Sims auto-aging up in saves using the Short or Long lifespan. 

“We recommend temporarily playing in or creating new saves with the default/’normal’ lifespan, as we work towards a solution.”

Following the message, some players shared other glitches happening in the game.

One person wrote: “Ever since the update I keep getting this error message. I can’t access any pages other than the maps.”

Another said: “With the recent update it broke my create a sim, no icons show up.”

While another commented: “Pls fix immediately sims I am having the worst week of my life this game is literally all I have left.”

The Sims has also allowed gamers to choose the sexuality of their virtual characters.

As well as the recent pronouns update, players will now be able to assign a series of attraction parameters for their Sim.

The three parameters are:

1. My Sim is attracted to - a statement of who your Sim is attracted to
2. My Sim is exploring romantically - controls whether or not your Sim’s sexual orientation can shift through gameplay
3. My Sim is exploring romantically - determines who your Sim can sleep with

The team behind the popular game said that there is a commitment from the game to continue to improve its 'representation of the LGBTQIA+ community'.
