Of all the places a robber decided to target, he went for the chicken shop where a married cop couple had just happened to go to for date night.
Talk about instant karma.
Louisville Metro Police Department shared footage of the unbelievable moment, which saw Elizabethtown detective Chase McKeown and officer Nicole McKeown enjoying a spot of food at their local Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers.

But their casual Saturday night soon turned into a heart-stopping chase after a masked man came in with a gun.
At first they thought he was just being cautious about Covid, but this all changed when they saw the staff member put her hands in the air.
Nicole said in a news conference: "I saw her hands go up like this and I'm like, 'Is he doing what I think he's doing?' And he's like, 'Yeah.' "

Looking like a scene straight out of a film, CCTV footage shows the couple casually get up out of their chairs, pull out their guns and chase the suspect down.
Chase added: "There was literally no question. We just looked at each other: 'Is this what's going on? Let's go.'
"We just did what we felt like we had to do."

The would-be robber, who was later identified as Justin Carter, dropped his gun as he ran out of the restaurant.
However, the cop couple managed to chase him down and make their arrest alongside officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department.
The department later said it 'couldn't be more proud' of the off-duty pair for the 'courageous and selfless actions they took to intervene'.
At this point, Nicole and Chase had been married for around six months, explaining that they'd gone to the diner as it's the same place they went on their wedding night.

When asked whether they'd be going back, Nicole said: "Oh, absolutely. I love Raising Cane's."
Viewers were just as full of praise for the husband and wife, with one writing: "If this is just date night, imagine what their honeymoon must have been like."
Another said: "Imagine being a kid and having them as your parents, hearing cool stories about your folks like this."

"Those two officers looked so badass getting up like that and spreading out," added a third, while a fourth chimed in: "This is the definition of A DREAM TEAM.
"The couple is so in sync with each other and have such great coordination and reflexes to handle this situation."
