A US Senator has hit back at Elon Musk after the Tesla founder dubbed him a 'traitor' for visiting Ukraine recently.
It's safe to say that since Donald Trump took office in January, America's relationship with Ukraine has soured.
The Republican president accused President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy of 'gambling with World War 3' in an explosive meeting, while he's also cut military aid to the European country.

Musk, who heads up the Department for Government Efficiency (DOGE) within Trump's Administration, has also been critical of Ukraine since taking office.
Democrat Senator for Arizona Mark Kelly paid Ukraine a visit recently amid the ongoing talk surrounding a potential peace deal with Russia.

Kelly penned on X: "Just left Ukraine. What I saw proved to me we can’t give up on the Ukrainian people. Everyone wants this war to end, but any agreement has to protect Ukraine’s security and can’t be a giveaway to Putin.

"Finally, if we stand with Ukraine they will be there for us. This country has a fighting spirit and a depth of experience and kickassness unmatched anywhere in the world today. These are the people you want in your corner. My goal in the Senate is and will continue to be to keep us out of wars."
While Kelly admitted he wants Americans to 'stay out of the fight', the senator said that if roles were reversed and war was taking place on US soil, then 'the first call I’d want to make is to our Ukrainian friends' - hence helping the European country during their time of need now.
The Senator explained more details surrounding his trip to Ukraine, which led to a comment from Musk claiming Kelly is a 'traitor'.

The surprising comment led to a sharp reply from the senator, and he certainly hit back with a brutal comment.
He wrote: "Traitor? Elon, if you don’t understand that defending freedom is a basic tenet of what makes America great and keeps us safe, maybe you should leave it to those of us who do."
It comes as Musk has issues with his social media site X, which suffered a 'massive cyber attack' on Monday (March 10), according to the billionaire.
The site suffered major glitches and intermittent service outage issues throughout the day, with Musk alleging that either a large coordinated group, an entire country, or both were behind the hack.

Musk went on to say to Fox News that IP addresses could be traced to spots 'in the Ukraine area'.
