People shocked after seeing how much food and drink costs at Super Bowl

Food and drinks at the football championship could easily set you back hundreds of dollars

Super Bowl fans have been left totally blown away after discovering how much food and drink cost at Super Bowl LIX.

Anyone who has been to any popular stadium event, whether for sports, a concert, or otherwise will know that if you buy food and drink there, it’s going to cost you a lot.

And given the price of a Super Bowl ticket this year, costing anything between $6,500 and $23,000, it’s fair to assume that the sporting event would be no exception.

After all, it’s attended by various A-listers and is one of the most coveted events of the year.

This year, the Kansas City Chiefs went head-to-head with the Philadelphia Eagles before suffering a brutal defeat of 40 to 22.

It drew attention from celebs such as Taylor Swift (of course), Lady Gaga, Paul Rudd, Anne Hathaway, and more.

But those fortunate enough to secure tickets to the Super Bowl this year were left rightfully shocked after learning how much food and drink cost at the event. That is, despite already having paid out thousands of dollars to be there.

The most shocking figure was for a cocktail dubbed ‘Voodoo magic', which customers had to fish out an eye-watering $59 for. With a price tag that high, I hope it was made with real magic.

The drink was made up of Don Julio 1942, Grand Marnier Cuvée du Centenaire, lime juice, jalapeño syrup, and mango purée. And let’s not forget its black magic seasoning garnish. Totally worth it in that case.

And for those who weren't so keen on some Voodoo magic, there was also the option to purchase a blackberry lemonade cocktail for…$40. Yikes.

While alcoholic drinks topped the price scale at the Super Bowl, the food menu didn’t follow too far behind in pricing.

A Grilled alligator sausage po-boy came in at $18, a surf & turf po-boy was listed at $30, while the ultimate nachos were priced at $36.

And it’s safe to say people online were left bowled over by the staggering prices, with one writing: “This game is not for actual fans to attend, it’s for celebrities.”

Another asked: “How many dollars per shot of alcohol, $30?”

While another quipped: “Dare you to crowdfund for your alcohol intake tonight.”

With prices like that, it's easy to see how fans could end up spending hundreds of dollars on just a few items, but it's understandably hard to imagine them being worth it.
