Fans losing it after hearing how Tom Brady pronounces common football term

Football fans were quick to point out the former New England Patriots star's unusual pronunciation

Tom Brady has gone viral for his unusual pronunciation of a common football term.

Brady officially retired from the sport in February 2023 and was best known for playing for New England Patriots.

Since then, he's become an NFL analyst on Fox Sports and was on hand for yesterday's game between Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers (December 29).

During the game, the Vikings' Sam Darnold got sacked by the Packers in the second quarter, sparking Brady to comment.

"They’ve done such a good job in protection today," Brady said of the Vikings before their 27 - 25 win.

"Sam may have a little sense of comfort, [but] at some point you’ve gotta get rid of the ball. He’s held onto the ball quite a bit this season and he’s taken a lot of sacks. Almost 46 sacks this season alone."

Brady's sentiments have since gone viral, but it's not about what he said, but how he said it - the 'sacks' part in particular.

Someone questioned on Twitter: "Why does Tom Brady say 'sacks' like that?"

"Cali + Boston accent got him," one person replied.

Someone else quipped: "That’s the way wealthy people talk. Saks 5th Avenue."

"Bros Boston accent clicked in real quick," added another.

A different person laughed: "I didn’t know what to expect, but it wasn’t that."

Dozens of others made the same Saks joke, while different football fans pointed out that Brady is a California native.

Brady has only just started his new gig at Fox Sports in recent weeks, but is thought to have signed a deal with the broadcaster in 2022.

According to Mail Online, the 47-year-old signed a 10-year, $375million contract at the time.

His much-talked-about 'sacks' pronunciation isn't the only thing that got people talking yesterday as Brady also had a bit of awkward moment when he forgot who the Packers have lost to this year.

Chatting with Kevin Burkhardt on the live broadcast, Brady said: "Two of them to the Lions, they're a good team.

"The Eagles, they lost to them, they're a good team. And they lost to the, uh... who'd they lose to the other one? Anyway..."

Whoops.

Again, people were quick to take to social media to share their comments on the matter.

Someone wrote: "Oh my gosh Tom Brady had no idea who the Packers have lost to this year. Hey Fox Sports are you sure you made the right decision to demote Greg Olsen for Tom Brady????????"
