Travis Kelce has shared the tough piece of advice he received from head coach Andy Reid after the Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Philadelphia Eagles at Super Bowl LIX.
Kelce struggled to hide his disappointment after the championship game in New Orleans last night (February 9), when the Eagles took the win 40-22 and cameras caught the Chiefs tight end with a devastated look on his face.
After the game, Kelce spoke to reporters pitch side and said he felt there were 'a lot of things going wrong' for the Chiefs during the game.

Rather than one particular fumble made by the team, Kelce expressed belief the loss was 'accumulative of everything'.
The result stung that little bit more for the Chiefs who, after two consecutive wins in 2023 and 2024, were hoping to make Super Bowl history by winning for the third time in a row.

But head coach Reid urged his team to think about the future when he got chance to speak to the players shortly after the game.

Kelce shared Reid's advice while speaking to reporters, quoting his coach as he said: "This one’s gonna hurt. Let it hurt and figure it out and figure out how to get better because of it."
Though Kelce did confirm the loss was going to 'hurt', he also took the time to praise the Eagles for their success.
"Hats off to the Eagles, man. They got after us. All three phases," he said.
"Wouldn’t get it going offensively," Kelce continued. "I mean, they just got after us on all three phases and then on top of that, turnovers, penalties, playing behind the sticks on offense is just … dropped passes, not taking advantage of the play call and executing them, there’s a lot that goes into it.

"You don’t lose like that without everything going bad."

Kelce even went as far as to claim the team 'haven’t played that bad all year'.
Reid shared a similar sentiment when he spoke in his own post-game interview, saying: "We didn’t really play well in any of the phases. We didn’t coach good enough. They did a nice job."

The coach went on to make clear he was 'proud' of the Chiefs for 'the fight they put in throughout the year, and all of the games they’ve played here over the last few years'.
"My hat goes off to the guys for that, and we’ll learn from this — like most games when you don’t do well. We’ll learn from this as a coach. We’ll learn from this as a player and move on," he said.
