A TikToker has revealed what happened when she returned a couch to Costco after two-and-a-half years.
With the rise of fashionistas taking to social media to do their 'outfit of the days' or Instagram reels also comes the rise of influencer wannabes purchasing items of clothing, wearing them once or twice to snap a pic and then quickly returning them.
However, this TikToker is really taking the idea up another notch.
TikToker Jackie Nguyen took to her page last week to give followers an insight into what happened when she decided to 'return [her] couch to Costco after two-and-a-half years with no receipt'.

Yup. Not only did she decide to return it after a whopping two plus years, but she didn't have a receipt either.
In the video, she says: "So we bought the couch from Costco [...] right before we had Santiago.
"I don't know why I was so nervous, I think maybe because it's been that long, but we bought it from Costco so?"
The question is, did Costco accept the return?

Well, the video then shows the sofa being taken to a branch of the shop and unloaded from a carrier.
Jackie notes it was 'very intimidating' going into the shop with 'a big giant purchase'.
"There are a lot of people staring at you," she adds.

However, the TikToker reveals Costco have an 'awesome' returns policy, and so she was actually able to give the sofa back.
While she didn't have a receipt, Jackie says she 'already knew the day' she bought the sofa because she'd taken a photo of it.
A Costco employee was able to look it up in the computer and 'that was it'.
"She asked me if there was anything wrong with it or if I didn't like it anymore," she continues. "And they gave us our refund, a full refund to his [her husband's] card."

Basically, she resolves it means you can just 'return [an item] when you don't like it anymore' - although, there are some products you can't return.
But people have been left divided.
The TikToker faced a series of divided comments on her social media platform - she eventually turned the comments off on the post.

A user commented - as quoted by FOX News: "That is just f—ing wrong," one woman reacted.
"You used something and you loved it with your kids and your animals and your whole family, and you used it for two-and-a-half years, and just because there's [a] little loophole in this store's policy, you think that it is morally right to take that couch back and get a full, full refund for it, for a used item that there was nothing wrong with?"
While another claimed that people 'abuse Costco's great return policy'.
However, many flocked to her more recent posts in support.
One user wrote: "People acting like it’s hurting a billion dollar company. The amount of money the [sic] make on memberships alone. People wild."
Another resolved: "Lmao Costco’s not worried about the returns … it wouldn’t be a policy if they were worried about it stop defending a corporation who doesn’t need defending. Do you girl!"
On Costco's website, it states it has a '100 percent satisfaction guarantee' returns policy.
In relation to whether there's a time limit on returns, it states: "We are pleased to offer what we believe is one of the best return policies in the industry. All returns are reviewed and considered on a case-by-case basis. Some returns will be authorised/refused at the discretion of a manager."
And whether you need a receipt? "Simply bring the product to any Costco warehouse and our Member Services Team will be happy to assist you.
"It helps if you have the receipt or original product packaging, but it may not be necessary to process your return." it continues to say.
So what do you think?
