When it comes to travel etiquette, there are things you do and things you definitely do not do.

And one of the biggest faux pas of travelling is not respecting other passengers' personal space.

One woman has now sparked a debate about plane etiquette specifically, after revealing what happened to her on a recent flight.

Fanny Gagnon O'Donnell, from Montreal, recently took a three-hour flight from Germany to Spain.

But during the trip, she experienced some rather strange behaviour from the passenger next to her.

Now, for those who like a window seat, it's always a great feeling when you manage to bag one without having had to pay extra to request it.

I think we can all agree that the middle seat, on the other hand, is probably one of the least favourable options, which maybe could explain the behaviour O'Donnell encountered.

Over on her TikTok, @fanntayeule, O'Donnell explained she was super happy to have the window seat, and even messaged her mom a photo.

But unfortunately, her happiness soon faded.

"The guy next to me didn't know what was personal space," she explained, showing footage of the man leaning over her to take photos out of the window.

"I was confused at first but but thought it was gonna be a one time thing."

But O'Donnell was surprised when the man continued to lean over her for the duration of the flight.

"I let him do his thing," she continued, sharing more clips of the man's arm right in front of her face.

"Woop, there he is again."

And people on TikTok had a lot of opinions about O'Donnell's experience, with many divided.

Some were adamant they'd never dream of invading somebody else's personal space in this way, with one writing: "Nah bc I felt awkward AF when I had the middle seat and even LOOKED out the window… felt like I was invading their space just with my vision… I can’t even imagine doing this."

Others said they had also experienced this, with another adding: "I had the same passenger next to me last time - I just closed the window."

While another wrote: "This happened to me once except it was the sweetest old man and he asked permission each time he wanted to take a photo."

Others said it wasn't so bad, explaining they didn't really see a problem.

"It’s not that bad. Just let him take a pic. He’s excited, it’s cute," one said.

And another wrote: "Just let him take a few pictures i don't see a problem he likes it to enjoy it together be nice."

How would you respond?
