Flight attendant reveals why you should never wear shorts on a plane for a very important reason

Shorts may be seem like an attractive proposition, but maybe not the best attire for a flight

A flight attendant has revealed why you should never wear shorts on a flight for a very important reason.

Especially if you are jetting off somewhere hot, it can be very tempting to wear shorts to the airport so you're all set upon embarking off the plane.

I mean, you don't really want to be wearing jeans when you can get comfy on the plane with shorts, do you?

While it may sound like a great idea to whip the summer attire out though, a flight attendant has warned against doing it, no matter how appealing it may be.

The crew member, who goes by the name of Tommy Cimato, went over the top five things he thinks we should all know about travel etiquette on TikTok under the handle @tommycimato.

And it was here where Cimato said the one item of clothing you want to avoid wearing on a flight is shorts.

"Don't or try not to wear shorts when you're on an airplane. It's the same thing as the window, you never know how clean it's gonna be, so if you have pants, you're gonna have less germs," he said.

Yeah, wearing shorts may be more comfortable - but if you don't want your uncovered skin picking up germs, then picking some pants may be a better option.

The flight attendant then spoke about other plane tips and etiquette rules to follow while you're in the air.

Cimato added: "Do not ever touch the flush button with your bare hands. It's honestly just super unsanitary and pretty gross, so when you flush, use a napkin or tissue that's in the lavatory.

"Don't forget to drink water. Stay hydrated. You wanna have about 16oz for every flight you go on, so keep that in mind.

"Do not fall asleep or lean your head on the window. You are not the only that has done that and you don't know how many people or children have wiped their hands or other things all over the window.

"Don't feel afraid to let a flight attendant know if you're feeling sick. So if you need food, water, or an air sickness bag, please feel free to let us know."

Elsewhere, the flight attendant warned passengers to not 'sleep or lean on the window' while onboard.

"You're not the only one who's done that and you don't know how many people or children have wiped their hands or other things all over the window," he said.
