The unnamed 37-year-old male passenger was trapped inside the aircraft’s toilet for more than an hour on Tuesday (January 16) on Flight SG-268, which took off from Mumbai airport at 2am local time to Bengaluru, as per the Indian Express.
The passenger from seat no 14D went to the toilet as soon as the seatbelt signs switched on onboard the flight.
However, he was about to live a true nightmare, as after that he realised he could not get out of the toilet due to the door failing to open.

It meant that the passenger was in the loo for the landing of the commercial aircraft at Kempegowda International Airport.
The man was understandably panicked by the whole ordeal, so flight attendants onboard slid a note under the door in an attempt to reassure him.
Once on the ground, two engineers boarded and broke down the door to free the panicked passenger.
The man has since opened up about his experience, telling the Times of India: "I was traumatized, dazed and injured as I was thrown around inside the toilet. As the plane landed in Bengaluru, there was no medical assistance at all."

The passenger claims SpiceJet offered him a voucher for the equivalent of $60 for his troubles, something he subsequently turned now.
"Soon after the flight took off at 2:10 a.m. Tuesday, I went to use the lavatory on the front left side of the plane," the passenger explained.
"Within minutes, I realized that something was wrong with the lock and I tried to open it."

After crew failed to get the door open, the passenger was forced to stay in the toilet for landing - something he claims 'injured' him.
"During landing, I was thrown around and suffered injuries. It took 20 minutes for someone to start breaking open the door. When I came out, I had bruises and my vision was blurred for a while," he told the outlet.
"But I received no medical help even after coming out of the loo. I got a bottle of water and barrage of apologies from SpiceJet."
"SpiceJet regrets and apologizes for the inconvenience caused to the passenger," SpiceJet said in a statement.

"The passenger is being provided a full refund."
The airline told the Times of India that the crew 'provided assistance and guidance to the passenger. Upon arrival, an engineer opened the lavatory door and the passenger received immediate medical support'.
